Hi guys, just wondering if there is anyone on this planet that has worked with a Roland MKS7?

    Basically a Juno 106 with a TR707 in a 2U rack
I bought this thing off my mate at music college in 1989 and paid £50 for it!
It has had plenty of love over the years and I used to control it from an Atari Ste which had a whopping 4Mb of RAM upgrade!!!
Using Cubase 2.0 I managed to write a mixer-map panel with lots of hexi-decimal conversion and was quite happy to talk to my Atari and make lovely Juno sounds.
Does anyone here know if this thing can dump it's memory using SysEX into my PC now?
I also have a whole load of downloaded banks for the thing and cannot figure out how to send the SysEx to it and after all these years I'm a bit rusty with anything to perform these tasks.
I have scoured the web and cannot find any info at all pertaining to this subject (dumping memory). I've checked service manuals, user manuals and cannot find any info about this at all.

Many thanks for anyone that point me in the right direction and put me out of my misery!

    Martin

What I do in these cases is dig out my old Emagic SoundDiver (which might also support the MKS7) for all these editing tasks.
It's stone old and you might need Windows XP to run it but I haven't come across any better editor and librarian since decades.

Also check out this one: https://ctrlr.org/roland-mks-7-editor/

Interestingly, the guy who made it says that the MKS7 does not even have a MIDI out?!?

I actually have that editor downloaded which is fine for creating sounds but I want to get the original bank saved somewhere safe. Probably being overly cautious as there is nowhere to save sounds on the MKS but it would just be like the thing if I didn't and totally screwed it up!
I've actually got SoundDiver saved somewhere but never used it so I'll jump on that just now and have a mess around.
Many thanks for your help, stay safe, make music and be merry
