Every single plugin should have an auto gain !

    It depends on how this function is implemented. Some devs rely on an auto-leveler that measures rms/sample value at the input and output and adjusts the output according to the input value. i don't want something like that when i'm working with an eq.

    an equalizer should not have auto gain, at least not how it is typically done.
    It gets real messy quick if the auto gain does not take in account the input signal.

    I think the best implantation at this moment is done by Tokyo dawn records,
    But I don't think that actually auto-gain as regarded by most people.
    (It is actually a trim pot that can be engaged after a certain amount of seconds.)

    no they shouldnt thats called being a chet learn to use your ears and how to eq and compress, plus theres plugins like analyzers and smexascope to help you along the way
