I been lurking this forum for a while but never made an account until now.
I've been trying to figure out how to install these SYMLINK installer ones but it is kinda hard to comprehend especially since the instructions are vague/russian. I'm doing a WAVES bundle (PRO TOOLS user.)
Any walk through guides on how to install these? I've been breaking my head over these plugins for the past two days now.

    1. Place the folder anywhere you like.

    2. Run the .cmd file.

That’s all you have to do. The point of symlink is that you have the benefits of installation without having the files spread all over your system - the process is also instantaneous & everything is pre-cracked.

I don't know how it works with Pro Tools plugins, I've never installed/used it.
Say you have downloaded a Sugar Bytes bytes plugin bundle, a no install/symlink one.

    1) Extract the .exe or .7z file with WinRar or 7-zip to a very short path (even if it's a .exe
will be just a self-decompressing .7z file). Because there are long folder and the limit in Windows is 255 characters.
    For example:
    c:\SBytes.2017.11

    2) In the install and uninstall .cmd files change the path to the VST2 plugins to the one you use in your computer.

Example in the install .cmd file:

    cmd /c mkdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\VstPlugins"
    cmd /c mklink /j "%PROGRAMFILES%\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes" "%~dp0C\Program Files\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes"

if you have them in c:\Program Files\Steinberg\VstPlugins change it to:

    cmd /c mkdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VstPlugins"
    cmd /c mklink /j "%PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes" "%~dp0C\Program Files\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes"

    THIS IS WRONG:
    cmd /c mklink /j "%PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes" "%~dp0C\Program Files\VstPlugins\Steinberg\Sugarbytes"

Likewise in the uninstall .cmd file. Change this:

    cmd /c rmdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes"
    cmd /c rmdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\VstPlugins"

    to this:

    cmd /c rmdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VstPlugins\Sugarbytes"
    cmd /c rmdir "%PROGRAMFILES%\Steinberg\VstPlugins"

    3) If you find "(Current User name)" inside the .cmd files change it to your Windows username. Example:
cmd /c mkdir "c:\Users\(Current User name)\Sugarbytes" -> install .cmd file
cmd /c rmdir "c:\Users\(Current User name)\Sugarbytes" -> uninistall .cmd file

    Change them to:

cmd /c mkdir "c:\Users\Xupito\Sugarbytes" -> install .cmd file
cmd /c rmdir "c:\Users\Xupito\Sugarbytes" -> uninstall .cmd file

Of course, change Xupito with your windows username

    4) In a similar way, if you find the folder:

    c:\SBytes.2017.11\C\Users\(Current User name)

    rename it to

    c:\SBytes.2017.11\C\Users\Xupito

    5) You're good to go, cross your fingers, say your prayers and double click "Symlink Install .cmd file"
It will probably ask for Administrator privileges, click "yes"

Open your DAW, search the plugins, if they doesn't whow Re-Scan the plugins (depending on the DAW this may be different)

    Have fun ))

    I'm home now.

I've opened up the SYMINSTALLER in my C:
All folders have been placed automatically. They're in Program Files, CommonFiles, & even my Documents.
I'm reading your instructions but I'm confused of what to do now.

I installed Symlink into my C:
All folders were placed. I open up avid, they still aren't there. Obviously I'm missing a step. Maybe something to do with the Keygen as well?

If it comes with a cr*ck you must apply it, read the R2R's folders. But save that for the last.

Still, the plugin should be installed. It's true that Waves plugins are harder then the average.

Read the readme.txt, translate it with google translate if it's in Russian. That along with my instructions should do it.

I literally do not know what to do now. I stated above that I already ran the CMD. Syminstaller for my plugins which in this case I was trying the FabFilter. Everything that's suppose to be extracted is extracted.
I'm not understanding what step I'm missing. I even ran the cr*cks accordingly and opened up Pro tools... Nothing.

    Update:
I installed all of the cr*ck folders into the according folders manually.
I load up pro tools & it is now asking to “SELECT WAVES 9.7 Sg Studio Modules folder”

When I click cancel it fails to load up my plugins due to the error: “the following plug-ins failed to load because they are not valid 64 bit aax plugins:
    Waveshell-AAX 9.7.aaxplugin”
    they were 64 bit btw.

Probably the 32 and 64 versions are organized in a folder structure more complex than they should.
Pass me by PM the name of the release. BTW, don't you want a newer one?

Oh, and another thing. The "for infomation only" folder it's not necessary. This means the plugins should be pre-cr*cked.

Edited: @big man , I took a look at the version you're trying to install (or similar, 2017.11)
What a f*ing mess... :deep_facepalm: .. everybody would have problems, especially PTools users.

I ended up cr*cking a FABFILTER bundle as well as Antares Autotune bundle. I can work with these instead of waves since it has a desser, eq, limiter, and compressor. (also more shit i’m not sure how to use.)
the Antares Autotune pro latency is trash tho. I don’t know if I should send it to a bus to receive less latency? i’m at the lowest Sample rate as well.

appreciate for trying to help with the syminstaller bs. think i’ll stay away from it lol.

Especially since R2R never did a NO INSTALL ever. Least of all waaay back in 2017! haha
    And there wasn't an R2R 2017.03.13
    https://upawg.ca/index.php?Search=Fabfilter&Page=3

Plus, when have their .nfo been in Russian??
And the folders Patch and Keygen there?
These were my first 2 signs.

    Yeah do. It's a fake R2R release.
    Not long enough, obviously!
    That makes sense.

    Thanks.

I need a good waves cr*ck if I ever come across one.

Symlink installers are not fake. They're just another way to use cr*cked releases. It just happens most of the publicly available are made by Russians. I make some on my own.

@big man , I managed to make work the son of a bastard but for VST2/3 only. Unlike most plugins I don't really recommend you these Waves no-install versions. Go for the original version that Smoove has sent you.

PS. Disclaimer, just in case: I'm not Russian

I did not say they were.
The R2R release is fake. Check upawg link.
