yes I know there must be hundreds of posts about this BUT as a new user I couldnt find a straight and clear answer to this. So please have patience and excuse the repetition, it would be great to make this post easy to find ... and if there was one already i apologise, please link it here.

So due covid bull@&*£^it I had to start working outside my studio where i have all my spectrasonics up and running. I have installed them years ago from the first versions and updated each one of them as the updates came out. I have a macbook pro where i am installing all my plugins and I would like to know where i shall start. I have ALL the installers and updates but I was hoping to skip the neverending installing times and instal directly the latest installer. Could anybody here direct me on where to start ? can i start from the latest updates ? also I have the SAGE libraries copied form my tower mac onto external harddrives. is there a way for me to install just the plugin and direct it to the libraries on the external drive ?
- also I have seen that the latest updates are out ( as for october/november 2020 ) did i read it right ? they all work BUT only under omnisphere ?
_ is there a way to have keyscape working on its own or we still need it to run it through omnisphere ?

Wait for the latest updates to be k'd, then download the three soundsources(Libraries(Steam Folder)) and install with the updates.

also can i just direct the plugin to the SAGE libraries ( ive made a copy of each one from my other system on to an external drive which i have with me ) or do i have to install all the dvd libraries from scratch ?

 

Search the Omnisphere section for @The Pirate thread. He explained all in detail.

 

No ...For Keyscape(separately) need only copy KeyscapeDLL(C:\ProgramData\Spectrasonics\plug-ins\64bit) in DAW plugins folder

 

if you already have the steam data folder then just install the latest updates, when you open omni it will tell you if you have the updates for all patches, the latest omni update is a bit of a bummer, they changed the registration so you have to be legit to get the challenge code, to get it to work install the previous update and delete the audio16.dat file from program data folder on pc, run omni and copy the 2 codes onto a doc,open the keygen and copy the codes in and paste into omni, install the update and paste the challenge code and it should work, oh but i see you are on a mac so im not sure it works the same

why isn't that post pinned? do you know how many posts the pirate has made about omnisphere? i have tried searching for that specific post twice and came up with so many possible posts i gave up looking for the right one.

omnisphere is just a dll and a steam folder.. you dont even need to reinstall it just move the library!

 

please can you explain what is a "dll" ? is this valid for mac ? thx

thanks a lot diaz!!! i have a couple of questions
since i had installed the 3 instruments already on my studio computer and had them running perfectly I have just copied the entire STEAM folder onto an external hard drive and i was hoping to just instal the actual plugins on my laptop and direct them to the STEAM folder for the libraries... is that how it works ?
what do you mean "leave the patcher running" ?
am i right to think that i can install the instruments from scratch with the latest "update" installers ? or do i need to look for the first installers that came with the dvd folders ?
