Works well on my end with a fair amount hungry plug-ins. I always flirt with leaving Cubase, but after trying other DAWs, I end up going back. Every DAW could use this or that, but for me, it just does everything pretty well. Its also my favorite looking DAW (not only looks, but layout) Having said all that, this update did seem a bit pricey for the improvements we got.

I had the same issue you do. Spent a lot of $ on cubase and a few upgrades.
But after many calls to support and I got tired of paying for bug fixes I said time to learn another daw.
I am not hear to bang Cubase just stating a few facts. I am not hear bragging on Reaper either but for me it has been a blessing.
Reaper can handle a protect without freezing many track unlike cubase.
Maybe it has to do with all the GUI stuff cubase has or bad programming I have no clue but I do know Reaper for me has be great.

It's strange because i found a great sensation on integrated soundcard, no noise crackling, one of the best

11 looks like another worthy upgrade candidate for my cash.
Then again, I've been happily using Steinberg Sequencers and DAWs since the Atari days.
Favorite DAW for creating music and mixing. Pro Tools still in my rig for client compatibility sake.

Maybe cpu overhead in conjunction with the Dongle? Nearly every action on Cubase must pass the Dongle!

I have the same problem - cubase 10.5 runs great (for me) on windows 7, but is only supposed to be run on windows 10 systems... the app close procedure differs somehow. I have to manually kill the process, else a zombie process lingers til powerdown, pointlessly taking between 100-300mb of memory, each and every time... I don't worrry about it, but, given that in all other respects cubase runs great on win7, it really couldn't have been difficult to adopt an adaptive close procedure to handle both win7 and win10. :snuffy:

I am on Cubase 10.5 Pro at the moment on a Mac Mini (Late 2012) 16gB i7 Quad Core with 3TB SSD running Catalina...is it worth me upgrading to Cubase 11? I have been debating it for the last few days and I am still not sure, given the current situation that we're currently in

I will test a clean install of Cubase 11 Pro trial version (when it is released) on a clean OSX Big Sur 11.1 test partition. (macbook pro 2015 retina).

Although Reaper is still my go-to DAW, i felt always tempted to use Cubase also and have done that for many years in the past.
But Cubase's CPU and GUI performance was always lacking for me on mac, making it really unusable.
C11 now supports Apple's Metal API, hopefully cause of that i will experience a smoother Cubase GUI, among better CPU utilisation.
    Fingers crossed.

I didn't have plans for update, I stil fighting with pro one, but my license will expire I think next year. So bingo which I din't expect.

Btw I love all stable and quality DAW's, every have place for something and somebody, at first i adored Cubase it and later hated it in transition with Yamaha and now everything is ok, QA approved. With trial version will even much better because fixes and full support. This is all in .0 Can't wait, please share your experience after test.

This is now past, mostly check on load, slower actions and less used actions e.g. browse media and they have plans to remove dongle very soon (info form Steinberg employee). I expected in ver11
Can be in issue in first gen of dongle, or older they have slower response. Version 4th is must.

Think anyone on the sister site will crack this anytime soon?

I do hope so, however I did see a 'crack;' for it on the sister site for it, but don't know how good it is..not bothered trying it. I have the 10.5 pro on USB licence so am at the moment waiting for one of my surplus Lacie 2TB Thunder 2 & USB hard drives to sell so I can put that money towards the update

Anyone who does not like cubase... has probably never used it....
I've been using it as my main DAW for 15 years... I also own Ableton, Reason and Maschine.. All of them have there own flavour... but Cubase is The fastest for workflow.
