Keyscape only works if I have the 71.6GB data files in 2 places at the same time

After messing around for an hour, I finally got Keyscape to work within Omnisphere. Problem is I have to have the data files in 2 separate places, or Keyscape doesn't work. That's 71.6GB taking up unnecessary space.

The folders they have to be in are:

STEAM folder, inside Settings Library -- Patches -- Factory AND

STEAM folder, inside Soundsources -- Factory -- Keyscape Library -- Keyboards

If I remove the data files from EITHER location, Keyscape doesn't work. Removing them from the Settings Library location makes Kontakt say it can't find the sound source, and to remove it from the Soundsources location stops Keyscape from showing up inside of Omnisphere at all.

Can someone help me figure this out?

Yes, you need the whole library. You probably could use a symbolic link or shortcut to place the keyscape library on another disk but you need the whole library as one part/folder, otherwise it doesn't work.

I am not sure why it is needing duplicates.
    --------------
    In "STEAM\Keyscape\Settings Library\Patches\Factory\" I have only 2 files:
    1) "Keyscape Creative.db" (35.9 MB)
    2) "Keyscape Library.db" (119 MB)
    ---------------
    In "...STEAM\Keyscape\Soundsources\Factory\Keyscape Library\Keyboards\" I have 55 items @ 72 Gig.
    ---------------

As @r4e says, a symlink will solve the wasted space issue, but something is not right.
I'll look into this, but hopefully someone already knows and will post.

    A little about about symlinking:
Making symlinks is pretty easy to do by typing, but I prefer to use a great little tool "Link Shell Extension":
    https://schinagl.priv.at/nt/hardlinkshellext/linkshellextension.html

Theoretically you could delete all the duplicate .db files in the "STEAM\Keyscape\Settings Library\Patches\Factory\" folder...
... then go to the "STEAM\Keyscape\Soundsources\Factory\Keyscape Library\Keyboards\" folder, select all the individual .db files ...
Then right-click & drag to and select Pick link source", then right-click in the target folder "...\Patches\Factory\" and select "Drop as..." and choose "Symlink".
That would create symlinks for all those duplicate files.
(Attached are pics of what it looks like)
But there should be an easier solution.
It's much easier if you are symlinking whole folders to a new location.

The problem here is USER ERROR. You have an incorrect STEAM folder structure. ALL Keyscape files MUST go inside the Keyscape sub-folder inside the STEAM folder.

    It goes like this Spectrasonics>STEAM>Keyscape

Inside the Keyscape folder you should have

    2020-11-20 01_17_16-Keyscape.png
Inside the Defaults folder you should have

    2020-11-20 01_30_04-Defaults.png

Inside the Settings Library folder you should have

    2020-11-20 01_34_10-Settings Library.png

Inside the Soundsources folder you should have

    2020-11-20 01_36_15-Soundsources.png

The bulk of Keyscape data is found inside the Factory folder. I have detailed in another thread what should be in it. https://audiosex.pro/threads/what-a...t-size-of-the-keyscape-factory-library.54636/

With that said, you need to do the following things. First, structure the inside of the Steam as described. Make sure you have ONLY one of each subfolder. Second, delete any shortcut to the STEAM folder. Third, delete the zmap.index file. Finally make a new shortcut to newly structured STEAM.

If I were you, I would find someone with TeamViewer and a true STEAM folder to look into your STEAM folder while comparing it with the contents of his or hers and structuring yours as it should.

Wow, this helped me fix the issue. I deleted the entire sound library in Library\Patches\Factory folder except for the 2 Keyscape files you had there. Now it's working perfectly. Thanks!

After everything that I tried, this was the final step I needed. I sent you a private message, but fixed it before you could respond. My folder structure was not correct. Follow All of your steps and bam! IT'S ALL GOOD! Thanks for you posts, so much appreciated.
