Thimeo Stereo Tool VST 9.40 Auto EQ is most probably the most transparent dynamic EQ present.
It needs a lot of tweaking to do the job right though.

Did not know this eq was that spectacular, their clipper is also one of the best!

 

It has some innovative and unique features:
- analysis speed (refresh rate) adjustment
- abrupt changes protection
- flatten tops of the freq. bands curves
Average Total distortion less than ~0.1%
Additional specialized bass EQ.

I actually got a reply from the dev that they're working on a new gui structure that would make it easier for them to release the different tools as separate plugins. No time frame, but they're looking into it.

Like with anything else in life, to get top results one needs knowledge, patience and time for experimenting and thinking.
In order to avoid that, most people prefer one-knob or, at best, 'intuitive graph' software.
