off topic , but this year absolutely nothing ive done can get AAS air keygens to work.

i have a ton of older and current projects that use chromaphone 1 but after windows forcing an update and borking my desktop in feb im fucked.

sandboxie didnt even work, defender is off ,

although i opted over to symlink no installs a while back, air is just the only one that wont do thing.

hell at this point i'd rather deal with sorting through all the versions of sylenth1(bless your heart army of ninjas for making and idiot proof version) and serum that sorta kinda but really dont wanna work

It had a potential to be a great discussion if you would not bring up covid which had nothing to do with anything we talked about. No matter what's the topic it always ends up at the fucking virus these days be it about any random shit like baby strollers or gun parts and I am sick of it (no pun intended). Still, if you blame the invention instead of people you might want to have a reality check. Carry on turning everything into a covid debate, I'm out.

Since 1 year I have disabled with Group Policy Editor (Win 10 Pro) all Updates, Driver Updates and Cortana.
My PC run without any problems, all kind of Software and Drivers: Music (Cubase, Live, Studio One) or CAD (Inventor, AutoCAD, SolidWorks).
I give a Fuck on updates...

Sorry to hear that. People think it's all fake until this happens to them or a family member.
Several people have been on the news that said it was fake until they got it.
It's not fake, I wish it was

I am truly sorry to hear about your father. Did he actually die BECAUSE of Covid, or did he die of other underlying causes and just tested positive for Covid? There's a huge difference

I'm almost 80. I'm going to die. Everyone is going to die, eventually. I have no underlying ailments at this stage. I don't wear a mask, I don't use hand sanitizer, I don't social distance. I had SARS, in 2003, it was bad. I stayed home, I recovered. I had Swine 'flu in 2008, it wasn't as bad as the SARS, but I stayed home and I got over it.

If I get Covid, I'll stay home and stay warm. Chances are I'll recover. If I don't, I don't want people crying that Covid killed me. OLD AGE will kill me. NO ONE lives forever. We all die sooner or later and in my book better quickly with Covid, than a vegetable with dementia, Parkinsons and cancer, hanging on for years, just suffering. I'll shut up about covid. It's a bad 'flu season, like SARS and Swine 'flu. The difference is that back then we didn't destroy everyone's livelihood, bankrupt the country and cause millions of other people to die from NOT covid because they couldn't get treatment for anything else.

Not to mention that the entire Active Directory system is a ripoff of NDS and they still haven't got it right. If you block access to parts of a large directory tree, AD shows the folders they do not have access to. In Novell, if there were 7 levels of subdirectories and the user only had access to 1 and 6, that is all they would see. Windows admins wonder why they get so many security logs from users accessing folders they have no permissions for. It's because they are clicking on folders they should not be able to see in the first place. MS never got the inherited rights sorted correctly in their OU's. Novell was designed to be all command level and functioned securely. Nothing is unhackable, but Novell 3 through to 6.5 was pretty close.

    Really good tech stuff here.
Don't remember who talked about OS2. I wanted it to succeed so badly... I installed certain OS2 for Windows 3.1 that came in a PCWorld's Magazine's CD. One of the hardest things in my life.

Soon after that Windows 95 came and OS2 was swept besides some banks internal shit.

NDS was renamed eDirectory, quite a while back. Active Directory has ZERO, ZILCH, NADA, NOTHING to do with eDirectory. Active Directory is a disaster. I think that you are refering to what used to be called NDS for NT, it's now eDirectory and it is an addon for some SuSE Servers, it's been relabeled so many times. SuSE is a disaster, and I lost interest in it, before I even retired.

The eDirectory that can be installed over Microsoft servers is mainly for IDM (which is overcomplicated) and it's got worse instead of better. eDirectory lost a lot of it's functionality in a Windows environment. I always stayed clear of it. When I worked for Novell, I did NetWare 6.5, eDirectory, GroupWise and Zenworks. Anything after GroupWise 8, I wouldn't trust. Zenworks seems to have died. (no loss). Microsoft has it's tentacles into all the Novell bits, but I think eDirectory was beyond their understanding. it WORKED. Unlike Active Directoty, it used SLP and it was lightening fast, compared to Windows. If you don't index, it takes an age to find something in AD, if you DO allow indexing, most of the CPU time is spent indexing. You certainly shouldn't add indexing if you sre using the PC for music!

Hah wow youve had SARS and swine flu, id say your immune system is like a battletank against asian viruses at this stage.
COVID seems to affect different people differently, that is what is confusing and dangerous

Yes, symptoms include : Stroke, cerebral haemorage, heart failure, gunshot wounds, stabbing, blunt force trauma, renal failure, suicide, strangulation and being hit by a bus, to name a few.

When you hit reality and realise that a "case" has symptoms of a disease and not simply a test which the inventor said shouldn't be used for diagnosis. when bits of RNA strand are amplified 45 times, whilst anything over 30 is abnormaly high and the so-called virus has never been isolated, you will realise that the whole thing as a SCAM to force the population into COMPLIANCE and to make trillions for the Gates Foundation, Fauci (who has a patent on corona virus) and the big pharmaceutical conglomerates.

Now, suddenly they are coming up with "Covid-19 causes brain damage". NO, NO, NO, it's wearing a mask. It deprives your brain of oxygen (hypoxia), it causes you to rebreathe your own germs and it causes hypercapnia (excess CO2.) When your brain is depeived of oxygen, brain cells start to die and they never regenerate. In 10 or 20 years from now. the most common disease will be DEMENTIA.

Stay asleep, wear your muzzle of subjugation and enjoy what you can now, because in the not too distant future, you won't be able to remember your own name.

I already suggested. Download a Win10, install W10Privacy, kill EVERYTHING in W10Privacy, Turn off Indexing, check Services and turn off anything obvious that you don't want (eg Bluetooth, updates etc.).

If you have a decent CPU (15 or better i7) and plenty memory (min16 up to 64GB), you are good to go. Download Malwarebytes Windows Firewall Control (FREE). No anti-virus, stay off the internet (use a cheap old PC with XP or Win7 for that. That's about as light as you'll get.

I've been using that configuration for the past 3 years. Never had any problems, runs like hot shit on a shovel.

They've been trying to hack me for years now. I set up some honeypots for them and it's a good feeling to know how much time these morons waste trying to hack sites and PC's with NOTHING on them at all, just the OS. Mind, I also have a couple of firewalls they have to get through first!

I'm sure thay could find better things to spend hours of their time on.

I'm in the so-called "super" or "power" user category. I recently started setting up a Win10 machine since applications that I want to use are starting to no longer run on Windows 7.

It's been a nightmare. Even logged in as admin, I'm completely locked out and can't do anything. Finally, I could take no more and turned off user account control and took ownership of the hard drive. Even after that, I *still* get locked out of certain things.

I absolutely hate the user interface with a passion. I have spent days so far trying to wrangle it to looking, feeling, and behaving like classic windows and I had to finally take a break, it was so mentally exhausting.

That's all in addition to installing the various applications that are now necessary in order to kill the massive amount of spyware that is included and runs by default in Windows 10. I am old enough to remember some of the first spyware that made big headlines in the late 90's and early 2000's. If anyone were told that eventually Microsoft would release a version of Windows with 10x the spyware of any known spyware application, no one could have believed it. People would have said "then no one will use it, they'll be sued, everyone will go to Linux," etc. It's amazing how indoctrinated people have become to not only having their whole lives tracked... they now actually go out of their way to put all of their personal information online and upload daily videos of their lives, families, and activities. The world has truly gone insane.
