If you check the new Mac Mini or MacBook Pro M1 Tech Specs it reads:

    11. Testing conducted by Apple in October 2020 using preproduction Mac mini systems with Apple M1 chip, and production 3.6GHz quad-core Intel Core i3-based Mac mini systems, all configured with 16GB of RAM and 2TB SSD. Tested with prerelease Logic Pro 10.6.0 with project consisting of multiple tracks, each with an Amp Designer plug-in instance applied. Individual tracks were added during playback until CPU became overloaded. Performance tests are conducted using specific computer systems and reflect the approximate performance of Mac mini.

I guess the new update will be released today with Big Sur or next week when the M1 Macs will be available.
Would be really dumb to release a Mac with a new architecture and let your own software are be executed in emulation (Rosetta 2)

Let's only hope it will run on Mojave.

Yeah, very curious about this as well. Even though I imagine this update is mostly about optimizing performance on the new Macs, it will tell us what to expect with future updates. If the minimum requirement is Catalina, that will have to be the shortest time that an OS lasted as being the minimum (Mojave, June to November).

who knows, but since Apple still sells Intel Mac Mini, which can be equipped with Mojave, they should fully support Mojave with latest Logic Pro X

I hope they finally fix a lot of bugs that are ehm 'bugging' me for several versions now. Also made my contribution by sending bug reports so I'm curious. Besides the regular updates, isn't it strange btw that we're still using a DAW that is already 7 years old? Although I have to admit, I don't think big improvements - like the ones we saw between 9 and 10 - are necessary at this time. But still.

Maybe an AI vocal and instruments separation? Let's hope at first it will benefit much from the M1 chip and no bugs will rise.

Better Control surface support would be great.
IT would be so awesome if the FaderPort 16 would work with Logic as great as with StudioOne

Indeed, Logic is born as "Notator" on Atari in 1.986 by Emagic :) (34 years then)

    Unfortunately....
The minimum OS requirement is now Catalina (OS 10.15) or higher.

For those on Mojave happily running Logic Pro X 10.5.1, you can let go of your FOMO. Unless you need Launchpad support or Step Sequencer access in Logic Remote, you aren’t missing out on anything significant. So, take your time planning your upgrade to Big Sur. You may not need it now. But history tells us there eventually will be compelling reasons to upgrade to the newest version of Logic Pro!
