Cubase 11 activation Nightmare

    It´s the same here. Just be patient. After some hours at least Cubase 11 appeared in the activation list of elicenser and is pending.

    its worth it ? i have cubase 10.5 but still use 5 :D

    Same problem 10.5 lost.
    I tried to launch license maintenance but the server is not responding.
    Anyone know if it works?

    Same issues here... I'll bet there are some IT guys sweating this hardcore. I've been that IT guy sweating this kinda thing. Trust me, they are hating this much more than we are. But it still sucks, 11 looks like it will be pretty awesome and my inner child can't wait.

    This thread real irks me off. Not only did Steinberg charge ppl 99 but then you can not use it.

    Thank you for the update, I guess we have to wait...and until then I will restore to my Backup Image of my DAW from yesterday! :D I always make backups before I update to another version of Cubase! I have learned my lessons according to Steinberg! So I can continue with Cubase 10.5

    I know if I just bought the latest version of cubase and ran into problems, I would definitely be looking for answers on a crack software site as opposed to the official site..

    I've been unable to get my license upgraded for OVER 9 hours now. Instead of getting an upgrade, I now don't have a license at all. I usually don't partake in boycotting or drama but I've just about had it with Steinberg and I am not exaggerating either. If this was a free update, from a small indie company, there'd be a difference, but this is just downright insulting and embarrassing.

    Literally all that they can respond with is... this???:

    Are you f@#$king kidding me, this literally just translates to:

    "Management didn't have the foresight nor desire to spend an extra $100 on an extra instance on AWS to scale up the server for one day, but we already have your money so so good luck, suckers!"

    Because of this - frankly insane - attitude, they're wasting money on handling totally unnecessary support tickets from angry customers who not only can't activate their new license but also lost their old license when the upgrade fails.

    They seriously don't realize people will just keep hammering the server until their activation succeeds??? "Patience" is not something I would be asking my customers for right now, "forgiveness" is a better word. They should be scrambling to fix this, not blame the customers in a blasé manner.

    This is beyond idiotic, I have not been able to get through on any of my machines, there are no workarounds, no fixes, and people are reporting losing licenses, and being locked out of their DAW, me being one of those people. Support isn't helping out either. In total, this stuff has been going on for the better part of a day now!!! Literally ALL of this could have been prevented.

    This is just wonderfull! Restore of Windows can't restore your license on the USB eLicenser!!!
    SO I am stuck with nothing...no 10.5 Cubase no 11 JUST NOOOOOOOTHING!!!!! What a Crap!
    I started a ticket on Steinberg but I guess that is just for nothing! They don't care....
    Can't even register my Dongle, nothing works, all fail, fail...fail!!!!!!
    Better switch to Logic or ProTools, those guys now how to program...
    What a waste of time and money!

    Kinda pathetic by Steinbug. But not unexpected. Sorry guys, I can believe the frustration, especially w/ pending projects!
    I was always an early adopter of their stuff, but this rly reminds me of what happened to me when they let me dl C10 early. It worked fine for a week, until around official launch day; then I got a broken version of both C9.5 and 10 simultaneously for some (the same) reason. When I asked them to fix it, Steinbug accused me of using "unauthorised" (ironic) software "illegitimately". Naturally, I downloaded C10 from their download manager!

    Also, @Mud Jones, it's kinda funny but I get moar info (and obvs moar help) about Spectrasonics & Steinbug from here than any official site. Which has prolly also crashed? Also: have you ever tried Steinbug support? XD

    Some of you are suffering from the extremely common snowflake condition "I want it now-itis"

    Be patient, no one has been screwed, Cubase is released worldwide and there are 1000's of early buyers all trying to activte it at the same time instead of waiting and thats not Steinbergs fault. Its down to all those who expect everything on demand.

    Give it a few days and try again, its hardly an issue.

    I'm a pretty patient dude and I would almost agree with this if I wasn't put in such a precarious position. I basically live inside Cubase and at the moment I'm working on several clients projects, one of which is due today. Went to bed last night assuming the server issue would be resolved after waiting all day. Woke up this morning with the same problem and no updates from Steinberg. I cant run either 10.5 or 11 so basically I'm shit out of luck right now with Cubase. I had to push my deadline for this evening and now I'm in process of getting set up with adobe apps to get things done. This adds a shit ton of stress not just to me but to my client as well. Not a good look especially when dealing with new clients.

    And before anyone asks why I would do a major upgrade to my daw in the middle of a client project, there's never a time that I'm not working in Cubase. Also in the 20 years that I've worked with Cubase, I've never had any issues upgrading my license... just like the other 1000's of people who are in this mess. Normally it's just straight forward without any issues. But my patience has its limits, especially when it's affecting my work. I don't have a sense of humor about that.

    If you cant use 10.5 then yes that is a pretty serious problem, and I sympathise. I just feel theres a lot of people desprate to get the latest release for no reason other than they feel entitled, next they will be complaining theres bugs in the first release.... no....
    However yes you have a fairly decent gripe there and I hope it gets resolved soon, good luck.

    I maneged to activate this very early in the morning my local time. My advise is to open elicencer with admin rights and start maintance option. I understand frustration as I spent a couple of hours yesterday with all licenses dissappeared facing deadline with some music for client.

    last time i updated it ate my dongle. Steiny said mine was too old (cubase 6) so. all the money i saved on the sale went to buying a new e licencer. im waiting until the update is on sale and in maybe its second update for "stability" never liked paying to be a beta tester

    I stopped trying and will wait. My previous version still works but i can not update, nor login to my steinberg. Should be fixed in a few days.
    I can feel the frustration with those in the middle of a working project.
