completly off topic, but your "signature" bug... bugged me out for a good min, until i figured it was digital and not real !

not exactly sure what your main objective really is, but i could also recommend Blue Cat Audio - BC Patchwork, as it can just be installed as stand-alone (as well as plugins, often used k'd in Pro Tools to load VST/VST3 into PT that aren't k'd as AAX...). it can open VST/VST3 on win (and AU on mac), can save templates, it's pretty light in itself, and has many other features, as well :dunno::)

Finally, I got Equalizer APO working. It does exactly want I want it to do and more importantly the way I want it to do.

    This ends my quest.

Big thanks to the posters who helped me on this. Your help is highly appreciated.

    Thanks for the feedback @ceo54!
On MacOS, my absolute favorite is Audio Hijack 3.

Ye, using EqualizerAPO as well - with FabFilter Pro Q3 as EQ for everything.
It enhances the sound as I would've connected an amplifier.

Only disadvantage is, it doesn't show the input signal which has something to do with the routing or so
but it processes the output signal very well so I don't care.

@r4e I never understood the fascination with FF EQ. DMG and especially Toneboosters outperform it by a whole nine yards. But I guess it's either the candy for eye GUI or I'm missing something.

To be honest, I don't know either of both (DMG & Toneboosters), never used them
but I work with FabFilter since years and I'm happy with it. I guess it's a personal preference for me
and yes, also like the GUI very much.
