...All I wanted was proper scroll wheel support, darker grid lines and midi CC automation in the arrangement view. Looks like they're still not here, but Im glad there's an update nonetheless!

There surely will be a workaround because such limitations are mostly coded into the installer itself but the programs run on nearly all previous versions of windows.

Tried this with Photoshop, Illustrator & Cinema 4D and they all work on my old Win 8.1 machine when I place their files
manually (or create a small custom installer).

Btw. is there any legal customer here, who wants to share an Ableton 11 beta installer with me?
Was reading that legit Live 10 customers are allowed to try the v11 beta for free.

I hope HCiSO surprises us. Patch command files are so much better than keygens + pre-patched stuff.

jesus..its even another few months until they release it

A few little annoying devices Rob Henke wants to force in, and a fukkin comping setup?
Is this a joke? for shame!

Ok new devices are a bit less boring than usual, as they include physics vectors? ok great! thats just what all your users have been begging for..:rofl:cmon

I dont know of any other DAW development team that is as SLOW, SEEMINGLY INCAPABLE (since the good ones left to work in a better company or start their own company),
or ignores what the goddamn customer base wants as much!

Its really just little Robbie Henke's retro-dreamworld where nothing improves, innovation is not good its evil! and he loves that bloody cold-grey-soviet-tb303-flat-hemorrhoid inspired GUI for the next 50 years..

Collections still restricted to 7 colors?? RETARDS!!

i went and listened to that Robert Henke talk about his beta-male moby arseache style shit he calls his music once,

Only so i could get to ask a question at the Q&A like "what the fuck has happened to ableton, have all the developers left?
Are you just working on recouping the loss you took for PUSH1&2?? no one gives a fuck your DAW will be dead by the time you recoup that!"

i had my arm raised but alas, did not get a chance =(

Ahhhh... that's not the worst fact buddy.
I can't even distinguish the colors if they are more than say 10 or 12

But the rest ... you're too right. Esp. when you say how SLOW they are developing things. That's really annoying.

For me, LIVE is DEAD now. Pun intended of course.

But they possibly knew what you wanted to "ask"

I always feel the same way when attending introductions of those "new" products. I hate these cheering events with all that "great" and "awsome"... shit and ask critical questions.
Soon one won't be called up again.:mates:

sorry, should have edited post above.

Luckily, you don't have to wait for an update, because this exists: https://github.com/adamjmurray/ableton-midi-modulation-tools. Not sure what you mean by darker grid lines, you do know that depends on your theme? Here: https://www.abletonthemes.com pick one or make your own I guess.

LMAO this guy, can't tell if you're trolling or you're just that delusional...

Wot, what? This is crazy. I live happily with the v1809 version.
I agree, not to mention you are a guru on the subject. But still, it amazes me the crazy v1909 requirement

I wasn't expecting this announcement for another couple of years.... but I can't feel anything but underwhelmed after watching the various youtube videos.

It doesn't even feel as innovative as the update from 9 to 9.5 which was free never mind a full version release.

    2020 continues to disappoint

Overall, a bit underwhelming and pricey for sure, MPE and comping are good additions that it was lacking sorely. I wish they improve the CPU and RAM usage, better and more stable plugin handling, delay compensation(the big one). Also while I like the GUI, I wish there were some ways to modify it (like having the browser on the right side of the screen and the arrangement view tracks on the left like every other DAW):guru:

Hoping to try the Mac version from the sister site (by some reputable groupz) after its release

1909 is quite a good build. Going to install this on my new machine. But ye, it's crazy that Ableton sets that particular version
    as requirement.

Hopefully it won't be enforced by the installer. Anyone with the beta have any info?

It's still an unfinished beta. They are improving but the control panel is unfinished, the overall GUI is unfinished, and they are still waffling back and forth about various update and security issues. There's another version of Windows in development right now that is supposed to scale to different devices and not be dependent on Win32, Win 10 might never be finished.

A pity the LTS version stays at v1809.
But next time I install a Pro version I'll keep that in mind.

Jesus Christ, what a shitty update.

I used to use Live as my second DAW, but not anymore. Fuck them. This is the lamest update I've ever witnessed. It seems ProTools updates are better these days than Abletone's. And why did they decide to jump from 10.1 to 11? Have you every saw somebody does that? I see such a jump for the first time. Just imagine how pissed off people gonna be(those who paid for 10th version). If this was 10.5, it would've been understandable and pretty acceptable, but not as a major version.

Resonator, fuckinator, shitverb... These fuckers lost any connection to reality.

Also, how many years it was since the last major update? And that's all what they've managed to come up with? Fuck these jumpers.

Oh, and something tells me they DID FUCKING NOT fixed their delay compensation. Which is THE MOST REQUSTED FEATURE from fixing perspective. It's 2020(gonna be 2021 when it released) and they still don't have working plugin delay compensation

Anyway, to anyone who uses this piece of shit: I didn't mean to ruin your mood. But this shit is so shitty that pisses off even me - a guy who uses it from time to time for some projects. You have to face reality - they fucked up and fucked up big. :knock:
