I'm expecting to see some news very soon

Update: A short while after posting this, Ableton went live with Live 11 news: https://www.ableton.com/en/live/

Fuck yeah man. Seeing so many creature comfort features I've made janky workarounds for, like the scale feature & randomization/probability, being implemented officially is amazing. I always get so hyped during christmas for audio news.

I don't record much anymore so I've no need for it personally, but comping is something I've seen the community begging for for...god, a decade now? Anyone here that records have any words to chime in? Looks good to me so far but I obviously don't have any hands on experience with it yet. Here's hoping for a more STABLE launch than Live 10

Oh my god for comping alone I would sell my kidney. I've been saying for years Ableton *needs* to get a playlist feature like Pro Tools. It's been the only thing keeping Live from being my go to DAW for tracking. With this I may never need to leave Ableton again :wink::wink: Your post caught me totally by surprise I had no idea this was coming. I did not expect to see a Live 11 so soon. Feels like Live 9 came out just yesterday lol.

Oh man and now I'm looking at midi note and velocity probabilty. I mean that's genius! You could just throw in a whole row of 1/8 notes on a snare drum set the probability they'll play to like 25% and all of a sudden you have ghost notes that play differently on every pass! that's nuts!!

And tempo following? I would kick someone in the head for tempo following. If it can do that thing Melodyne does and track the tempo of a recording and change throughout, I will stab somebody. This looks really really exciting.

The new devices especially the spectral ones look sick too. I'm really pumped for this lol.

Ahhhh I keep reading more new stuff and before you know it this post is gonna be a novel. They've got per track CPU metering! And scales finally right in the piano roll!! And mpe midi!

Wish they would accommodate composers more with MIDI articulation sets... We also need unlimited collections.

To be honest and realistic, this is fucking lame. We're at what - v10.1 ?

Where's 10.2, 10.3, 10.4 etc..? This is only a cheap way for them to create a mass-hype and to up-sell. I promise, it will still be the same tool with a few minor useless shit added. I'm not excited at all.

Everyone who bought v10 has every right to be angry. No more upgrades for them unless they pay more.

It will still bug from time to time and use too much CPU but I will install it anyway :)

    Done:
    - Comping
    - MPE
    - Macros extending to 16

    In progress:
    - Updating GUI of analog and operator
    - Extending collections to more than 7
    - Advanced piano roll (snapping the note drawings to grid, visual preview of groove & percentual quantization)
    - VCA Faders
    - Track visibility and large project organization
    - Keyswitch articulations
    - Context menu (and key command) for bouncing in place
    - Custom key commands for everything
    - Score Editor
    - Plugin sandboxing
    - CPU optimization
    - New design and decent themes
    - Device overview in session view (still in beta via options.txt see image)

Ngl I'm stunned that theyve introduce velocity randomization and MPE before basic piano roll features that FL studio, logic and reason have

A pity ! The price is clearly too high and the performance too low. I am very disappointed that there will be no chordtrack and all the other features of Studio One in the new Ableton 11. Sad that the chance was missed to catch up with Bitwig and Studio One...

Some real advantages in the update.
For me, MPE is good news as MPE instruments were almost unusable with Live. And the implementation seems to be handy.

But the update price is excessive for a still incomplete product.

Quite the same update policy as Steinbergs but even more expensive.
