My dogs are going crazy, the only cure seems to be blasting music all night!!

The worst thing is there will be some dirty rat kids living in the vicinity who only have a measly little packet of screamers and they're gonna milk the experience for all its worth, lighting only one per day.. which has been happening for a month already...

Just light em and get it over with for fucks sake

Come to Poland!
In Poland, November 1 is the Day of Souls of the Dead.
All the people come to the cemetery and light candles.
Very chill, very atmospheric, calmly, characteristic smell of wax.
Especially at midnight.
Unfortunately not in this year.
2 days ago politicians decide to close cemeteries for 3 days starting today. WTF?!

 

Yeah, things are pretty similar as to what @Roject said over here in Northern Europe.

It's not a celebration, but a quiet introspective day really. OFC some pubs/clubs have Halloween parties, but other than that, nothing. I usually go to the graveyard, light a candle on relatives' graves and just kind of meditate for a bit.

Add to the fact that since we're nearing no sunlight at all the sea of candles (kind of like those pictures above) look really amazing.

Sorry about your dogs, it's the same over here on new years.

 

@phumb-reh that sounds a lot nicer, yea not much introspection here, just candy, fireworks and xmas-like decorations.
Its just two of my dogs at least, one of them is too old and deaf she cant hear the fireworks anyway

I dont believe the government should be closing cemeteries, police standing guard etc but hey thats the way its going in some places

 

hehehe so sads. you now in other cuntries dogs are the fireworks. all nites barkin in the streets. people just want to eat them for diner and make and them shut up!

Pre-covid, this part of Spain would have been a crescendo of fireworks and dog barking. It's eerily quiet for a halloween. Poland looks nice!

 

My dog too cannot handle fireworks and is even affected by deep rumbling from great distances. He hides under the bed for hours and hours and suffers, not coming out until it all completely stops in the middle of the night when he is finally able to relieve his bladder and come back from the brink of being saturated in anxiety. The only positive that I ever have felt about fireworks since I was a child is that they only represent gunfire, morters and bombs and are not the real thing...at least not now where we live.

 

This garbage should be forbidden not because of animal stress (cuz noone gives a shit about them or otherwise we would have been vegetarians or smth), but because what it does to air (which is already dirty in most big cities)
