At least I'd say, but I'm afraid the basic principles of digital eqing, compressing and waveshaping are even older, as is my brain. :winker:

Inflator actually does nothing special in terms of waveshaping. Nothing that others cannot do.
But it is technically really well designed in the whole package.
Good UI, musically appealing curves, well designed filters.

It's the well thought out package that makes Sonnox plugins last so long.
For example, Oxford Dynamics can't do anything - technically - that others can't do, but the UI makes it an absolute workhorse.
Plus the features are well thought out. Apart from cleaning-up resonance filters, it has everything you need to bring a signal to a high quality level. Afterwards a bit of mid-equing if necessary and done.

That is why they are so good in my opinion...

Because there are the same! Stop spreading missinformations!
Its the same company, they just released it for the UAD DSP's & a Native version. The only differnece is that the UAD version is running on there Devices & the native one on your CPU.
Same goes for the Shadow Hills...

No it is not the same, the fact that i owned PA plugins and UAD version is quite different btw .. The native PA version has a mix control and side chain filter built into the PA toolbar. The UA version doesn't have this ability. So even though the code is the same for both versions, and they cancel in a null test, the PA version is potentially more versatile sonically because of those added controls. And everyone's ears are different ... you should aware of that!

Yes you have an extra toolbar with some extra tweaking on the PA SA but the Plugin itself if you compare it is the same.

is the "warmth" and "limiter" sections in the oxford dynamics the equivelant of a integrated oxford inflator and oxford limiter ? or are they different flavours ?

Trying to decide whether or not to purchase the oxford inflator and oxford limiter separately or to just purchase the oxford dynamics only.

I agree with this except phase cancelation,
In fact they have exactly the same code but in phase test they don't cancel each other,
The reasone is that UA cards/devices does UP SAMPLING,
    That makes difference between them,

No, they're very different. The warmth section in oxford dynamics is a basic wavefolder. It is perfect for giving signals like bass more headroom. It squares the waveform a little bit if you overdrive it via makeup, so you can gain up to 6db of extra headroom before it get's into fuzzy distortion. Almost like a modulation of the keyfrequency by the first even harmonic. Inflator can do this too, but has much more possibilities. It's like tape and tube in one plugin. The limiter section in dynamics also sounds a bit different than the oxford limiter. They are all different beasts.

It's best to demo them before you buy.
