Yes, but as a point-to-point energy transfer it would be really inefficient.

We use transducers to convert acoustic mechanical energy (i.e. sound) to electricity though with microphones. Anybody who's used one knows that a passive mic puts out a miniscule signal in comparison to the noise fed to it :)

Let's just not go there, but HAARP functions with radio signals, not sound.

This makes sense. My thought was in how much sound it would potentially take to create a useful power source. Was keeping in line with using naturally occurring instances to create an energy loop, ie possibly a rocket ship blaster or those riverboats with the massive fan that almost blew out my eardrum once. It would seem from the MIT links that there are already teams working on this so I'm going back to the beats lol.

Looks like a tempting transplant - definite swivel potential.
I would need experts to make the exchange. Presumably available at expertsexchange.com

    Question for Gyro, :)

Have we now degenerated far enough for this to qualify as a proper Foster thread? :dunno:
or have we forgotten any crazy ingredients?

If we think about music (or just sound in general) it's kind of like:

An Idea, cooked up by a brain (this is the creative bit) ->
    A Composition/Collage/Tune/whatever ->
A set of sounds to encode the idea ->

Sound as a medium, an idea transformed into Sound and transmitted

Sound received by a listener and processed ->
Processed sound transformed into an Idea, but a projection and interpretation of an Idea ->
Brain activity, be it thoughts or feelings, or visceral reaction like nausea.

Now, as we can see the transmission can't be 100% from brain to brain, there are too many lossy steps.

But that's beside the point, I was reaching for the fact that we use sound as a medium here, and got thinking (bad move in general though) that maybe there is a creative bit also in the Sound itself, not the sounds but the physical acoustic waves. As in the method influences the medium, therefore the message.

Is it so or not, inquiring minds want to know.

(how's that for bollocks? though that's semi-serious stuff)

Haha, YES! The time exists because the space cannot hold all the things.

And thank you for the new perspective. Lack of raw materials. Excellent. I didn't think about it like this. Something new.

That's a good question. I actually found a paper on that in the Journal of Engineering and Technology here: https://www.irjet.net/archives/V5/i3/IRJET-V5I3422.pdf Very Interesting.

It was very creative to destroy the hypothesis you created by even asking.
