How to I make these bass sounds?

    I've been trying to figure out these bass sounds but I'm stuck.

    Here's the first one:

    To me it sounds like a sine bass mixed with a real one.

    Here's the other:

    This one sounds like a real bass with tons of reverb.

    Nice songs. I had never heard of them before but you could find some info looking up studio sessions like this one for Thrice on youtube there are a couple studio vids.

    The 1st one sounds like just a synth to me, no guitar. But I have a pedal that makes my bass guitar sound like a synth, so Wwho knows except the engineer, producer and artist. The 2nd one sounds like a real bass with reverb played high up the neck or chimes until about 3.20. That sounds like a synth, but again, hard to say. So many ways to process a synth to make it asound like a guitar--and so many ways to process a guitar and make it sound like a synth.

    Thanks, I saw that vid. Unfortunately doesn't go too deep into the production.

    In the 2nd track, the bass lines after 3:20 just sound like a real bass to me. The attack makes me lean that way. But, it could very well be a synth.
