Master Track Mystery is the title of the new video I just release on my YouTube Channel "Music Tech Explained - the visual approach"

In this video, I dive into one of those often misunderstood or even unknown components in Logic Pro X, the Master Track, or Master Channel Strip. It causes many mixes to go wrong, even undetected.

With lots of graphics and animation, I cover the whole range from some basic concepts up to advanced Environment Window surgery. Tons of information for beginners and advanced users to provide a better understanding of this important component and many other related concepts in Logic you might never have been aware of.

With additional examples of Logic Remote and GarageBand for macOS and iOS, I demonstrate the potential confusion and various solutions on how to deal with the Master Channel Strip.

Technically, very good and informative, but the section about the Output Channel Strip not beeing a track is a bit redundand. Because you can turn it and easily by right-clicking on it and selecting "Show output track" which can then be used for automation. Same goes for Auxes and the Master Track.

 

You are right, I didn't mentioned the right-click option on the Channel Strip. It is actually the same Create Track command in the local Options Menu as you can see by the same key command ctr+T.
