I have an impression that he works all by himself. But it must very hard to make something like Gullfoss or Soothe single-handed.

So you say Gullfoss and TEOTE totally different.
But they do almost the same, as I said, difference is not apples and onions, just you may match settings, so it is TEOTE is a Voxengo's variant of Gullfoss, with its own parameters/settings/modes:

Just like all the cars do the same.
    Good for TEOTE.

    TEOTE 1.1 released
The list of changes in this version:
    • Added "Response mode" selector to the "Dynamics" panel.
    • Fixed gain boost under-representation.
    • Added more details to the user guide.
    • The "Hi-Freq Timing" parameter is now called "Hi Timing", to conserve some UI space.
    • Changed the minimal "Base Atk"/"Base Rls" time to 25ms, and "Hi Timing" to 1:20, for creative uses.
    • Changed the minimal Bands parameter value to 3.
    • Reduced master output meter's range to 6..-48 dB, for better resolution.
The new “Energetic/Balanced/Controlled/Fluid/Fluid Stable/Fluid Punch” switch selects the overall loudness estimator’s response mode. This mode affects both the handling of transients, “stability of sound”, and overall sonic coloration of the result. While for an untrained ear the difference may not be large, for a trained ear it may be decisive. The difference is most apparent at lower “Base Atk” and “Base Rls” settings. The “Balanced” and “Controlled” modes offer “more instant” loudness estimations producing a minimal dynamic over-reaction, but they may sound a bit too controlled. The “Fluid” modes use a substantially different method of loudness estimation, they usually sound a lot gentler.

It's not bad at all, but rather traditional. Nothing new or innovative, in my opinion - spectral shaping following preset curves by gain adjustment through multi-band dynamics. Band and slope choices do not change the principle. So in the end it's just up to [rigid] limited choice of curves. In this approach the main thing is how you get the curves. DSEQ gets them through extensive machine learning in their labs, and choses the 'right' one after a learning process.
In that respect Gullfoss and Soothe are way ahead, elastic, with sophisticated on-the-fly adaptive analysis and rendering.
TEOTE is maybe a bit more affluent in settings, but do not forget that additional features introduce some amount of extra processing, meaning unavoidably more distortion too.
In that way, TEOTE can fulfill more of your wishes (including whims and playing with things), so presets 'tuned to the contemporary mastering standards' can soon become a nonsense.
Gullfoss tries to be objective and precisely fit to human auditory curves. So, it's your choice. For final mastering, at least, Gullfoss is the right choice.
