Recently Native Instruments Guitar Rig 6 had been released on the sister site in both VR and R2R versions. But just a few days later the R2R version vanished, while the VR version is still there.
Does anyone know why?
It can obviously not be because of a takedown request as then both releases would be gone.
So what is that mystery about? Something wrong with the R2R version?

I´ve been speculating myself, just out of curiosity. But does anyone really know what is the reason?

So NI didn’t like the R2R release out there, but the VR they don’t mind?
I would think a takedown request is valid for the product in general and not just for a specific post, so for one product requested to be taken down don’t all posts for it have to be taken down?

Again, just out of curiosity, not to take the DMCA´s side

(And another question, does that mean that no releases for that product (6.x.x updates) can be posted anymore, or would that require another DMCA request for each?)

Out of curiosity does anyone know what was the difference between the R2R and the VR releases apart from the fact the R2R release being about twice the size around 800mb if I remember correctly?

I've never had a bad R2R, but I've had quite a number of VR releases that either don't work, or get blocked after a few days, despite blocking them with the Hosts file AND the firewall.

 

That's interesting. The Maschine 2.12 R2R works on 50% of computers... can't get it happening with Win10. Some Win7, won't work on. Others it will. That's the first and only I have noticed with R2R.

 

the difference is that surprisingly the R2R version is very hard to authorize (just like many of their recent NI releases) and the VR version works flawlessly
I don't know what's wrong with the R2R NI releases. I had to install the VR versions (generally not my first choice)
