Hello! I'm having this issue with Sonarworks Reference 4 Systemwide, everytime I start the pc it pops up and I have to close it manually to put it on tray. I would like to always put it on tray on startup, I tried Task Scheduler, making a shortcut and put it on the startup folder and editing the registry key to do it, but nothing worked.

I think in previous versions it didn't happen (I'm on v.4.4.5).

    Thanks.

Access Sonarwork Reference 4 Systemwide settings looking for a "Run on WIndows startup" option . You can also use CCleaner. It let you turn off software auto-start.

Do you really need it to Auto Start on system boot? You should disable it like @thantrax said, or use Autoruns utility

Me personally i could never put it to work (win7), even tho i guess it works inside ableton as the last plugin inserted on the master channel.
The behavior on my side is that it blinks really quick at the systray (startup) but it gets hide no matter what, my guess is that it can't keep running, so i disabled it..

The reg key to make it NOT to try to self start is:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run]
    "Reference 4 Systemwide"="C:\\Program Files\\Sonarworks\\Reference 4\\Systemwide\\Reference 4 Systemwide.exe --hide-systemwide --enable-media-stream=1"

I'm not so sure about that. I'm too long in music production to recognize when "monitor" does the thing but I know it's wrong.

Sorry, but I have been out of the music scene for a few years due to operations, is SonarWorks very different than Sonar Platinum? That is my main DAW, I also use Ableton Live now that it has finally gotten a decent sound engine. I don't have the 6 figure for a good ProTools setup. SONAR has been around since the beginning and has a wonderful sound engine and can do anything if you know how to use it, it is not as good at looping as some, well it is, but it's more work. Has incredible interface and production tools.

    its a different beast https://www.sonarworks.com/reference
it kinda works flattening the curve response of, to say so, your headphones/audio monitors, giving you a more transparent sound.
Not a daw, it's for you to use along one as the last plugin insert on your master channel/bus

Systemwide >settings>General> disable "Launch on startup"
    Taskmanager >Autostart >enable Reference Systemwide

Hm, when I turn off "Launch on Startup", there's no Sonarworks option in the autostart menu.
Not in the task manager and also not in the registry. Thought it runs in the background anyways but it doesn't,
just the driver does. Since I work with headphones almost all day long, Reference 4 has to be running because
otherwise my settings don't get loaded. And by adding Sonarworks to the autorun manually, the window opens
    up again on startup.

To solve the problem with the program window, I'm using an AutoIt script that runs Reference 4 Systemwide,
waits until the window is active and closes the window by sending Alt+F4.

If it's helpful, here's that script compiled as 64Bit Loader incl. source code:
    Reference 4 Autohide Loader.7z

To be able to edit & compile it on your own, download & install AutoIT.
Also included a reg file that adds the loader to the autorun, another reg file to reset the Reference 4 Autorun to default
and a cmd script to open up "C:\Program Files\Sonarworks\Reference 4\Systemwide" in windows explorer.

    1. Extract
    2. Copy "Reference 4 Loader.exe" to "C:\Program Files\Sonarworks\Reference 4\Systemwide"
    3. Merge "Add to Autorun.reg" to the registry with a double click

On the next start, the window should disappear automatically. If it doesn't, try to increase the sleep time in the script and compile.
I added 3 secons to wait for the Reference 4 splash screen , maybe 4 could help on slower machines.

    Hm, Win10?

    upload_2020-11-10_21-7-5.jpeg

I know it seems weird, and it is.
    It´s a "Sonaworks thing".

(Had a lot of trouble with win7.
It was the only reason I changed to win10.)

Ah, ok, on win10 my "method" should work.
(I think the OP has win10, cause of the tags he use)

Do you guys have a workaround for the missing windows 7 drivers? (i haven't looked deep for it, as in case, it just a download away on their page or so)
It can't run like yours cause of them drivers not signed and stuff... that dark window Lemmy is showing i have never seen in my life!

This works great! I was a little confused a bit how to install it but now it just hides at startup. This also could be aplied to other programs that don't hide too, I didn't know about that scripting tool that seems quite usefull.
    Thank you Mr. r4e

Ye, it definitely is useful and there are tons of scripts around for every kind of purpose.
    Quite helpful sometimes.
