It is strange in a way because I started with Notator on an Atari 1024ST and went to Logic then Logic Audio. Most programming globally up until the advent of mobile phone (computers) was done on a PC other than Adobe, graphics, video and music products and MAC proprietary apps. So Apple buying it yes I get it, but they moaned about Microsoft dominating the markets for a while. There was even a monopoly suit where Microsoft was split into two. In fact, in music and art up until recently, MAC dominated. Now it's more of a level playing field, with the only non-generic music largely-used facility being RTAS and AAX plugins, both being proprietary to ProTools. Everything else in popular DAW's and VST's are pretty much on both platforms.

I started in the same way. I don't think it's strange.

I don't know about the Novation Plugins, but the new/last Focusrite Red Bundle doesn't sound like the Midnight series at all, which I have both. Especially the comp behaves differently. Heven't nulltested the eq, though, since I don't use that anyway.

Streamliner indeed, received also an intro discount by mail but PA does so many sales/discounts through the year - besides their monthly vouchers - that most tools are available for an affordable price eventually. But checking all of them (Sonnox included, which I've heard of once in the past), I still don't think they work the same compared to FTF haha.

    https://www.sonnox.com/plugin/fraunhofer-pro-codec
    https://www.sonnox.com/plugin/codec-toolbox
    https://www.plugin-alliance.com/en/products/adptr_streamliner.html

"A codec is a device or computer program which encodes or decodes a digital data stream or signal." (active process)

    vs

"Fakin' The Funk is a tool that helps you to detect the true quality of your audio files in one batch. Nowadays you can download tunes from anywhere. But what is the real quality of these files? What if you could check those tunes to see if they’re really that good, and not upscaled 128kbps to 320kbps MP3s? You could batch-process them all without having to manually check them 1-by-1 using a spectrum analyzer?" (passive process)

But since I made the switch, FTF is history for me. Relying on ears isn't that bad after all I guess.

In 1999/2000 era, I remember using some plugins that were for directx I think. Can't remember the companies name, but they were expansive. It was a bundle. One of them was like a multitap delay. It had a matrix with colored circles/dots which represented feedback delay time and panning. can't remember. Damnit. I also used some TC Electronics plugs released by radium… those wer dem days… damn im old.

I've looked through dozens of pictures on duckduckgo but I can't find it. FIndung OLD content on the net is really hard. Maybe I should search with +radium?!

It's a VST instrument. With fully resizable GUI. You need to register an account, redeem the code you get from pluginboutique, download the plugin, install it and activate it online by logging in once.

That delay sounds VERY familiar and I seem to remember that from the old ACID 1.0 days in 98/99.. Was it the Sonic Foundry Direct FX pack? I cant remember what they were called exactly, but they had 2 or 3 effects packs that came out around that time (I think Sonic Foundry put them out) and I used those religiously in ACID and Cubase back then until I switched to a Mac. Radium did release them too, that's where I got them. I think it might have been called 'DFX' or something like that?
