Look at the mess between DAW-fanboys and pseudo-snobs only with the Wav playing thing.
No discussion can't get past that without derailing and if it could... damn... run to the trenches for your life...
Common sense and some wisdom in this thread? Noa... my fluffy sensei :beg:
Me too, despite my envy for his biceps...

I don't understand a thing, maybe it's my bad English. Could you express yourself in Catalan, please...

Xupito, at least this one didn't ended up in " this DAW is better than this one" as many other time. So let's try to stay in the subject.

    No, I don't. What's 'DAW-fanboys'?
What's 'pseudo-snobs only with the Wav playing thing'?
'Pseudo-snobs' = fake snobs = no snobs = authentic unpretentious people. (Logical analysis).
'Wav playing thing' I would (maybe) understand only in Catalan. I believe it doesn't mean anything in English.

    @pratyahara
By "Wav playing thing", he means the subject of just playing a wav.
And the fact that if that can't be agreed on, then instruments etc as Oly was mentioning are out of the question to bother testing and agreeing on.
But alas, Xupito does misuse English often.
When people choose to use a word, but use it incorrectly, it makes them look less clever than if they hadn't have used the word at all.
    Just sayin', Xups.

Pseudo-snob means wannabe snob: people that would like to be like the original snob but they dont have the charisma to succeed in it. Basically a failed snob (which is maybe even worse than the original one)

    lol... projection, your honor.

pretty dumb to go in that irrational direction, but you really had no where else to go. bit disappointed that i have no actual arguments to answer to though -- way to poop the party. maybe it is for the better if people are going to have hissy fits and lose their minds.

looks like you have another word, on your growing list of words, to look up as well. diligent research may have help take your mind off 'things'.

hope you can get off the copium soon. best of luck in the future.

Since the purpose of a DAW is producing music, even some aberration in sound reproduction (distortion to be exact) during pre-listening does not jeopardize its purpose at all. It is much lesser that the distortions that happen in the rest of reproducing chain anyway. Monitors (loudspeakers) typically can have THD between 3% and 10%. Electrostatic headphones ~0.5%. And also, their compression and their transient response are terrible compared to any solid state-electronic component or circuit and rise dramatically with sound loudness level.
Sound reproduction is relevant for music lovers, Hi-Fi enthusiasts and consumers in general. Of course, there are cinemas and theatres, etc. where it counts greatly.
If restricted to DAWs only, this discussion is practically entirely academic (apart from the 'vibe' that dominates here).
Also, much more impact on how your final result 'sounds' will have the quality (and number) of the plugins you use, and especially the appropriate choice of their settings.
To polish your sound to the best it is highly recommendable to send your mix for final mastering to a professional.

    No.
    The question should be :
Does the brain receive the same information trough the ear that let it sound diffrent to the person in his personal psychological enviroment that he lives in.

No DAW beats cutting one mono audio track from a three-track RCA mixer while you, your car battery-powered Eurorack modular synth fed into a '59 Supro amp, some dude on an upright bass and another dude with a 3-piece Gretsch jazz kit stand huddled around a single Neumann U47 mic and perform an entire album's worth of music live into a wax cylinder cutting lathe in one take (for you Millenianals on here, replace "wax cylinder" with "a Janet Jackson 'Velvet Rope' cassette that has a piece of Scotch tape over the record-protection divot" and "cutting lathe" with "a 'Home Alone'-edition Talkboy" or "a Yorx boom box".)

I don't mind looking less clever as long the message is understood. And it was for all intended to. Smoove, we are not in the Shakespeare forum.

But I also don't mind to elaborate what everybody understood:

Pseudo-snobbery, pseudo-elitism. When people try to look more clever, wiser, cooler, ... than they really are.
Be it in a debate on social media or buying candles with G.Paltrow's vagina perfume.

Well, that last example is a little bit over the top . Change it for, say, buying a signature electric guitar to post photos on IG but so expensive you can't afford a better amp than a Bluetooth mobile speaker.

Edited: hi again pratty/smoove, don't do offtopicking!

Sorry bro, I meant the word in italics: alas.
Saw you misuse it in another thread, is all.
I understood what you were saying in this thread.
So, is 'pseudo-literary-ist' in that field too? :bleh:
Sorry brother. Couldn't resist. You fed me the line, like a good comedy duo! :mates:
    Love ya.

What when message is not nice nor clever? It's better not to understand it.
And by definition, 'Pseudo-snobbery, pseudo-elitism' always relate to others, not you, of course (you position yourself as the judge)...
How disparaging people and obscure slang phrases can tell anything useful about DAWs producing sound?

You probably could shoe-horn those terrific "Hey You" lyrics into the "Hey Jude" melody,
but everyone's too professionally busy to try :winker:
