Hi all! Some libraries (i.e. Lo-Fi Glow) contains mono instruments. There is a way or command in Kontakt to change it in poly?

 

just try the korg mono/poly...

 

if they're sampled in mono, the only way you can make them stereo is with an artificial stereomaker.
The result isn't that great, though (I personally don't like it)

 

Depends on the patch... Some use scripts that force it to be mono. Others you can simply change the Max polyphony, also you might have to change the Voice groups... It can be done. Just might have to dig under the hood a little.

 

I guess he's talking about playing more notes at the same time (polyphony), that's not releated to stereo image.
There are cases where the patch has a switch mono/poly, but as @Moogerfooger says, sometimes button is missing: that depends on how the programmers intend the patch to be used. With a little knowledge of Kontakt options, you can succeed to have polyphony even if the patch is not programmed to do so

Duplicate the instrument twice in the multi so you have 3 copies.

Then either transpose the 2nd & 3rd instrument to other notes to play a chord, or use a script to transpose or limit what notes play.

 

it is all in the scripting. Sometimes I use a female voice patch (originally legato) in poly: what I do is open the script editor and just click “bypass”.
This method works for me but I’m sure there is a more elegant way to do that.
