I've noticed that these days when I need to have a good sit down on the throne instead of reading a book or browsing the web I fire up iMaschine2 and tap out some beats and basslines. Good times.

    Anybody else?

Other things that I've tried: writing lyrics (sometimes works), recording myself humming some melodies that might pop up and then wiring up SoundPrism to a synth via wifi and blasting some ambient pads and drones in the other room.

    Yes, my neighbors love me.

Note: I do have some stomach issues so maybe my session times are a bit longer than most...

I used to but I've found that I like to make music in privacy these days.

Well, I'd assume public toilets are not in consideration, but hey, whatever floats your boat! :)

Probably the best thread title I've ever seen over on the sister site. I had to come to look. Not disappointed.

Try Koala if you like to record your own stuff!
    Blocs Wave is fun also.

    Hey, cheers!

Although I'm pretty app'd out already (imaschine, beatmaker3, animoog, moog modular 15, nanoloop) these look like something worth looking into. Ableton export, yay!

I did some searching and here are the links:

Blocs Wave free with IAP, iOS only I'm afraid

Koala Sampler 4,49€, iOS and Android

This pun only works in some languages, but because it works in mine it's funny as hell.

So when you used to make music on the toilet, it wasn't done privately? Why didn't you privately contract yourself?

I've had one of my best songs "come to me" when I was in the bathtub (it took 10 minutes to write and "get down", while the floor got soaking wet). And Ive had multiple ideas, riffs, etc while taking a shit. So...yeah.
Edit: There is a reason why we get ideas when we are in the relaxed state. Books have been written about it. Look it up, since it's interesting. https://buffer.com/resources/shower-thoughts-science-of-creativity/

If anything in the mix sounds harsh, toilet acoustics will reveal it.

I'm 100% sure this was originally written sitting on a toilet:
