Hi all-


I've been a vinyl junkie since i was a teenager, got my first technic 1200c's at age 19 and ive been spinning ever since

over the years i collected some real vintage stuff and classic albums, all in mint condition or very close to it- it means that the covers aren't defaced, creased, torn or water damaged and that the vinyl isn't warped and has no scratches or marks that would affect play.


and now the time has come where i have to make hard decisions, and i have decided to sell my records for money i desperately need

so i will start cataloging my collection and photographing the covers to sell on ebay or amazon or craigs list or whatever

i figured i would give my fellow audiosexers first crack at these once i get them ready, and also to gauge interest ]


when i go into record shops now, you can easily spend $35-40 on good old vinyl (even for some current foreign imported stuff), and even more for the really hard to get stuff, so i know there is a scene for vinyl out there!
i wont be charging as much as that for my stuff though- i cant afford to be snobby about the prices


i will start posting records as soon as i can get em photographed and priced!


so, is anyone interested in vinyl here at all? the prices will be fair and better than the average record store's prices so i can entice people to buy em!

I might be interested, but dude that middle shelving unit is really "bowed" - that happened to me once and there was a slight sign of warping. Hopefully your records are ok. Which city/country would you be shipping them from? As the weight has a big impact on the cost depending on where you are vs. the buyer's location.

 

you got any dub in there? scratch perry etc?

 

also you could stick em on discogs

hi all, im glad to see many of you are interested in vinyl still! nothing beats the warmth of good ol wax...

as to what is in the collection, im just focusing on the premium wax, 1st issues and special editions, some signed copies, stuff like that-

i have a few hundred classic rock, 70's and 80's punk, some 80's synth bands, 80's classic hip hop, some 70's-80's reggae, early 80's electronica like Kraftwerk 1st issues (hard to find!) and a few late 90's to early 2000's IDM and Jungle albums...

all of these in mint/damn near mint condition- most never even played before... it's weirdly cool to look at a Bob Dylan album from the 60's that looks like it just came out of the factory!

i have TONS and TONS (hundreds) of other records but they are not in pristine mint condition, most of the others are in only "good" condition since i actually played them alot so i probably wont bother with those ones, plus i have several hundred kitschy and offbeat thrift store/garage sale albums that are in good/fair/poor/shitty condition that i compulsively purchased for years because i love em all (many i bought just because they had goofy looking cover art)

such is my love of vinyl! i love my collection, and it kills me to sell em, but i have to do it.. the only thing my collection needed was early 1st issue industrial albums, that would have been sweet to have 1st edition skinny puppy albums for example..


about shipping: i have thought about it and i need to make sure the shipping solution is both safe and affordable, because i want to make sure the records survive the trip but dont want to have to pay an arm and a leg for it... after i shop around i will let you all know what it is, i guess either fedex, ups, or regular mail will be my choices. I live in the US so im not sure if international shipping costs more, but i will be sure to ask about it

I'm sure many people will be interested in this. In fact I'm going to contact someone that would love some of the stuff in your collection and we'll see if we can't drum you up some business.

So what's the deal, that wasn't your actual collection or you felt it best to hide that picture? You need to be extremely honest with these things because vinyl buyers much prefer dealing with genuine sellers, not "bent" ones. Oh, and international shipping is WAY more expensive than U.S. domestic costs. You didn't know that already? It's fairly common knowledge....

 

Yeah they certainly RAPE people on that international shipping.

i dont have a house right now to live in so i dont have a nice picture of the the collection for you, im trying to raise money so i can have a place to live again, like i said i am going to start photographing them tonight

last night i cataloged about 65 albums after work, and i am setting up an ebay and craigs list account now, and i m looking into discogs and a few other places- selling things online is all new to me so bear with me

sorry, no winstons amen brother EP to my knowledge that is in mint condition, maybe i have a less than perfect copy of it, the one with "Color Him Father" on the A side, right? i will keep an eye out for it
