    Hello Babyface users :)

I am not impressed by the price and comments concerning the RME Babyface power supply unit. I have read recommendations to use a third party power supply but I am uncertain about the plug.

Does anyone successfully use a third party power supply on the babyface and can recommend the model to me? (or convince me of the stock one^^)

    Cheers

What is important is that the voltage ratio and polarity is correct.
Check the babyface manual. There you will find all informations.

Aside from polarity of the plug, the *amperage* is the most important. Especially in this case, since you need a 12V 2A switching power supply [I found and read it in the manual on the web]. 2A is a bit high, but nothing out of the ordinary. However, you will mostly see ~500mA to 1A power supplies. If it cannot provide 2A it could burn out more easily/sooner and possibly damage your Babyface, too.

    Cheers!
