New Vocal harmony song

Discussion in 'Our Music' started by Lenny Belardo, Sep 17, 2020.

  1. I did an Elton and Bernie thing for the first time in my life. A friend sent me lyrics and I sat at the piano and it just flowed. I started recording at 9am and wrapped it up as you hear it at 4pm. I don't know what this is... a bit country, a bit folk. Band Of Horses were on my mind too.

Lovely sentiment. The compostion and production are very fitting for the sentiment too.
The overall sound of the vocals are amazing, man. And I know how hard it is to even just track up vox! Well done, mate.

  5. I took it down because I didn't feel as though it's of much interest to many people here.

Awesome. I took a break from producing a bunch of radio shows in Metal genres that I have been working on for two days and two nights straight and grabbed an opportunity to listen to 'TreeTalk' by @Lenny Belardo.

Hats, off to you @Lenny Belardo . I feel totally refreshed by your great track.
What a great tonic for my abused ears! Thanks, man.

  12. Thanks to all and very gratifying to hear your responses to the song. Makes a change from technical analysis of a songs frequency range problems.

Undoubtedly Stephen Layton vocals, unique and with character, me likes a lot.

Straight forward arrangement with a good arc of suspense, nice piano. I'm often told I use too much reverb on the drums, looks like I lost my pole position. [IMG] :winker:

As far as I can tell, it's very open sounding. :like:

Are you talkin' 'bout me, are you? [IMG]

    Kepp on rockin', mate.

wow, this could have gone wrong in so many places and I was expecting it to "crash", but It never did. its not often we hear this level of sensitive and rich compositions here so congrats for the excellent job.

its so good though it deserves further treatment, I would incorporate other pros of my liking for further arrangement refinement and mixing, if possible of course.

don't get me wrong, it stands on its own as a very well crafted demo, its just the "problem" with tracks of higher standards, the better you make them the higher you will want to aim to call it perfect. its the same with a simple "beat", the lower quality product you make the lower requirements to call it perfect.

I like how your mixes usually sound a bit more beefy and full then the average mortal's.

Very nice really like the vocals, reminds me so much of the Hollies and Bee Gees from bygone days when music was beautiful and melodic and had the effect of making everyone feel happy when they listened to it. Keep it up you are on the right track, it is so refreshing to hear real music again. This is the direction music needs to return to, keep up the good work.

  19. Thank you so much. Really. No Avenger also made a very nice comment that the vocals are very "me" Which is the oddest and most peculiar aspect of my career in music. I've never sung because I don't like my voice, but recently I decided to find a way to work with it and three part harmony does give it a Bee Gees late 60's era sound, which I don't find offensive.

Awesome work. I was just sitting here thinking of California, Washington and Oregon when I was listening to it.
How did you record the drums. I like the reverb on them. I think your Vocals are great.

Now for the others not responding it happens in here with certain users. As far a genre, hell it's music, that is the most important one.
