No, I didn't. In case you are interested in an explanation why I linked the vid, here you go. In case you're not, I put it in a spoiler so you don't even read it by accident.

You claimed in your first post that the sound in the vid you linked is supposed to be an EW&F sound and the vid claimed it's from the song Can't Hide Love. I think we agree on that.
Since I found the sound pretty cheap, I wondered if these claims were true and looked for the song only to find out, that of course the song's synth sounded much better (as expected) and significantly different.
To make it clear, the sound in the vid you linked is not the sound of the song (or it's treated heavily).
So these were contradictory informations which I wanted to point out, to clarify what sound you are really looking for. Either EW&F's Can't Hide Love, or that cheap sound you posted. That's all.
No need to be ratty or unpolite.

We say things that are direct and even then sometimes they get misinterpreted.
No Avenger is a good guy to ask questions of. He is very knowledgeable with engineering, frequencies and many other things.
You felt you were being snubbed and he possibly felt he was being disrespected.
In the same room seeing each others' expressions, this probably would never have happened.

The Internet sucks for that. words are too easily misinterpreted. I saw you were genuine and when I read all the posts. I saw a bunch of intelligent people misreading what the other person had to say. Hey I'm not perfect I screw up like anyone.
Everyone needs to ask if they think they are being attacked instead of assuming because as I mentioned, there's enough of that in the news.

The artist/band may well have recorded those parts in the original mix and the engineer left them in, just very quietly. These parts often add a certain je ne sais quois. This synth may well be turned right up for clarity in the YT vid provided.

I do not think anyone can do that all of the time.
But I do know that Russell Garcia (RIP) could write an Orchestral Concerto with a pencil (no instrument) and Transcribe the entire work on one listen.
I also know that No Avenger cannot do that but what he can do is probably tell you every prominent frequency in any given tune and possibly in one listen. It's kinda what he does for a living.

 

So we can agree that saying the sound was from EWF is what piqued your interest, right?
For me, this is where things went left.
I politely pointed out that I wasn't interested in your video; only the sound in mine. The sound is in a multitrack of the song that I have and whether it's genuine or not isn't of concern to me. I wanted THAT sound.
At that point, it should've been over, but instead, new people (who had nothing to do with it) swooped in telling me to 'chill tf out'.

Not their fault they can't understand the concept of layering & a dense / busy mix, and have to resort to insults, as well as towards sounds created by legends EWF (cause that's what they are doing in this thread!)

I am not a henchman. I have been a pro musician for 40 years though it's more difficult these days and I have seen how and what he does over time through hearing mixes he has done that did not appear here. As for the plugins aspect or anything else, I would not know about that.
