This is a synth sound from the mighty Earth,Wind and Fire that I want to re-create as close as possible.
I'm really not good at sound design, but I can take direction.

That's a great idea. I feel stupid for not thinking of that option. LOL

I also wouldn't mind someone recreating it on a Mini V3, Monark, etc.
Just to see how it's done.

    Again, thanks for that advice.

Sorry, but did anyone of you listen to

The sound OP posted is, err, 'somewhat' different from what I hear in the vid.

In Ableton you could convert the (melody) audio to midi, to get the pitch and miditiming of the notes, and then attach any synth to your liking.

What you're hearing is the horn section playing (in unison at times) over the synth I posted.
The synth I posted is lifted directly from the song multitrack.

And with all respect, the sound I posted is the one I requested help reproducing.

    Really? :winker:

I highly doubt that, that's why I posted the other vid. To me there're significant differences between the sound you uploaded and the synth sound in the vid.

yes the Odessey vst exist in crack version with the patch you need to have on download too... The sound is rich but you need to wait a few time before understanding the GUI because the knobs is not on the average synth implementation, this synth is unique.
I can recommend to download the software but not buying it instead if you have the right budget...
The last and not the least is that in my setup this vst take a lot of CPU ressource

You're missing the point by being extra.
It doesn't matter WHAT you think the sound is in a separate video posted by you.
I posted a SPECIFIC video with a synth that I asked for help in recreating.
You are now in left field, talking about a whole other video. Who does that?

Everyone else understood and offered help. You popped up on some purist bullshit. Knock it off.

    So let's try this again:

Do you know how to recreate the sound I posted? Not another video. The video I posted.

No Avengers ears and mixing skills are prolific.
Telling him what he is hearing just takes the biscuit!
If it was me, I would have felt you were trying to wind me up by saying that.

I understand your point too, but please, chill tf out!

Nah. You've effectively made him the beginning, and me the end.
I posted the video. He posted ANOTHER video.

There is no "too" in this.

He went off script for no reason. Fuck chill. (I tried that with my initial reply)

I thank anyone in this thread who DIDN'T feel the need to post another video and say, "Hey the sound you're looking for aint here."

WHO are you saying GT "Fuck outta here with that bullshit" to? And why is it funny to say that?
Not really, no. You told someone what they are hearing! haha. Nice.
Fine. You are referring to when I said that I understand your pov too.
But there is no "too" in this.
    I see.

Thank you for explaining yourself, but I already knew.
Do not tell another member to fuck off. Read the rules, newb.
    If only you knew.
Not at all. Just your lack of respect in this place. And I strive for fairness to all. Which you missed.

Either offer advice or hold on to your,"I'm rubber, you're glue" lame ass humor. Otherwise, it's just like I said:
U popped in to be a cheerleader for whatshisname. It serves no purpose other than your ego being too bruised to just mind your business.

Thank you to the posters who offered help.

Ok I'll answer your question. I listened to both and in the process of separating some of the timbre is different but it does sound like an ARP or an Oberheim synth.
The Arturia package should give you that sound.

As for the rest there's enough crap on the news without you, me or anyone else adding to the insult fests in media.

    Oberheim's Two-voice TVS-1, Four-voice FVS-1 released in 1975, but album was released in '75.
And if it's ARP it probably would have to be the Odyssey, as the Omni was released in '75 too.
As a session keys player, I would usually have answered this, but hey.
    Why bother?

    Btw, well said @The Freq
    The site rules say otherwise.
    Please read them asap.
