Hi everyone. Here is a little loop I made yesterday, just melody here.
How to make that drop sound fat and full like in the mainstream tracks of this and similar genres? It seems like everything I do doesn't give the result I want.



Here what I did for processing: Oud, zurna were processed with EQ, Multiband Comp, then Exciter and then a little more compression around -2 dB of GR.

Then, I routed oud and zurna to the bus, added a little bit of OTT, EQ and SSL bus compressor with around -4 dB of GR and sent verb and delay return tracks.
Then, I routed that bus to another bus with other instruments(gritty bass, arp, pew pew and high synth) added eq with low cut and boost around 600 hz, SSL bus compression with -4 dB GR and sidechain compression.

So the, question is, it sounds flat and not finished, I guess. I mean it sounds weak. What should I do to make my drops sound fatter and full? Or I`m just going too hard on myself because this is my production and I supposed to not like it?

 

I did not export the bass and drums. The talk here is about the synths only. But there will be some 808 bass and drums for sure

Distortion on the bus or on instruments separetely?

Where's the kick, bass, snare, distorted pad stabs, offbeat open hihat, wide reverbed white noise filter sweeps, ducked distorted guitars, call&response FX, etc?

feed it into a limiter faily hard, like 5 to 10 db gr and cut resoances and distortion with dynamic EQ, but u have to put the EQ in the chain before the limiter. #thats what i would do tbh
