An ongoing goal... A process oriented approach to getting better at musical arrangement and production... Its a never ending road... And I love it!

I'm mixing my own songs for a movie trailer. That's my first goal, so it's the biggest one right now.

Not really my thing bro. One of those many trap fan, gangsta vibe, etc. I'm not saying he doesn't have talent or the prods are bad, it's just the genre I'm not very enthusiastic about. Th lyrics are awfull (not in terms of rymes, the content). I'm oldschool regarding hip hop. And I like conscious content, political or poetic, whatever.

    Hi Gyro G,
Been researching the Subpac link you sent me. Buyer responses have been roughly 50/50 good, not so good. Thought you might be interested in this vid I found: 'What’s inside a Bass (Subpac) Backpack'?
I had been wondering and voila, a guy and his son ripped one apart for our viewing pleasure, here:

To be able to produce + record and then also mix and then master ITB with no outboard gear or summing boxes, all in the same session to a professional quality level. Then to self-publish and release a track weekly.

I am at an age where dreams and goals begin to fade... I no longer dream of fame and fortune. I do like though to finish a lot of stuff that i start and then put aside which is a bummer. although i would love for someone to sing the few songs, that are done years ago, in my native language Arabic, and maybe see how people react to those.
anyway all my best wishes for those with big plans and dreams.

Youtube played me one of his videos where he was on about buying the NY Jets. The first comment I saw said ... just another pathological narcissist!

No wonder the world is in the state it's in ;)

finally start making my own music,
I play some instruments, play in some bands, do some mixing and mastering (been improving a lot on the latter two past few years),
but haven't made anything on my own from scratch for a long time...

My biggest goal in regard to my participation in the music industry, is to stop becoming exponentially further deaf as the years roll by. Approximately three months ago my right ear stopped receiving sound successfully, nearly reaching the impairment level of my left ear, which was diagnosed as partially deaf in 1989. My otorhinolaryngologist back then couldn't explain why this was happening. My current otorhinolaryngologist believes that my condition is most likely due to prolonged abuse to my ears, due to playing in loud blues bands for about 21 years straight . Look after your little drums my fellow music peeps, because you don't want to arrive at the suicidal position such as what I did three months ago (48 hours in hospital under suicide watch). Metaphorically, it is akin to being a fisherman without a rod, reel, or bait. It is Shakespeare without a quill.

Unfortunately, our hearing deteriorates for us all over time anyway. Although I am very sorry to read your story. Rather chilling, actually.
As you have now witnessed, mental health is paramount, and dictates the health of the body.
Having been a session player and dep, I resent that music and "industry" as you say are intertwined. You aren't missing much, imo!
But you could maybe still teach music theory and technique?
I used to get depressed because when I was a kid I was playing football in the cold and I headed the ball and my left eardrum burst!
16k is still there, but sounds different!
A Tibetan friend went to a top ear doctor in India, but left with a permanently deaf ear because the doc went in too deep. Sickening.
I wonder how we would both feel if our ear problems were directly due to another's negligence?

    All the best Billy.
