I was talking about Spotify Premium because you mentioned it.
The spectrum says nothing about the quality.

Sorry, i dont think i understand what you initially meant yet.
Spotify encodes their lossy streaming versions from original, lossless audio from the record label.
But yes you can quite quickly determine the real bitrate of audio by looking at the spectrum

 

You are probably looking for a converter that downloads music videos from youtube in an mp3 format, which means only the audio.

 

JDownloader works perfect, for both audio and video on youtube.

But, I have a better option if all you want is a good quality MP3. Check out deemix its awesome.

 

Cannot be an absolute answer, but JDownloader is great at. You choose the format, you delete unwanted items (video, subs, etc.), and it's done.
Only aac, opus, m4a, etc, then you have to convert it if you want.

 

After using ClipGrab for a long time i'm using Open Video Downloader now.

 

I like using 4k Downloader because i like to save in mp3 format, but I am sure many others do that, too.
JDownloader doesn't seem to offer that format, but many players will play aac, etc, too.
I actually bought ..(or donated?)..whatever a long time ago to download whole playlists of YouTube lectures

The only problem I see is that mouse warriors won't like the idea of typing stuff into terminal. But really, it's the best downloader and Youtube downloader there is. You can easily choose different streams, combine them, solo them... absolutely powerful.
