If the request is dmca (which I doubt, but why not), then so is the product itself. No point in requesting something that can't be posted, no ?

 

I guess can be posted but will be deleted quickly but be shared too on the other warez and torrent sites which do not follow dmca rules.

 

Ok, I understand the reasoning. Well arguably a request on AZ shouldn't get dmca, since dmca is for illegal contents themselves, not for request of contents. But if a dev manages to get a dmca for a request and not the content itself, then it's very doubtfull that the content itself will be posted on AZ, that would be playing with fire. Threatening the site itself for one product would be unwise.

Maybe post a request on those other sites you're talking about ?? Or forget that one forbidden fruit...

If it's any consolation, requests don't do much. The most important are the contributions. If teams are provided they bring release.

At first glance it may seem ridiculous but a lot of people visit sister site and someone may saw such a request and be a person who own the full version and can supply it to the right person who will pass it on to the groups. If there no a request then chances are 0. If there will be a request there are some chances. I belive in this because I'm shure this happen to the one of my requests. Synth stays uncracked since 3 years then 2 months after my request was cracked. I think someone saw my request then supply full version which own to the right person and here it is.

Another user sent me a mac copy of freshly released software that wasn't available publicly on the sister site because I made a request and asked nicely.
Expecting someone to crack it for you is laughable, but asking goes a long way.

If requests don't mean much then why do they get such a big box on the home page? It would be cool to see an expanded weekly top with a viewable history or something else more meaningful then.
