This 1-2-3 classification is now out of date, insulting and confusing. Who is to say which part of the world is "first"? And how can a country like Saudi Arabia or Japan, neither Western nor communist, be part of the Third World? Plus, the Soviet Union doesn't even exist anymore

Psssht, seriously? Where's your sense of adventure? I keep my pyrated plugins (*cough* ummm.... "allegedly" pyrated plugins,) guarded with a number of magical beings. I have found that no VPN, Firewall, etc., can compare to having your ill-acquired goods guarded by one of any number of creatures many and most people consider myth. Don't want Overloud, or PreSonus sneaking a peek at your unlawfully acquired plugins? Simply catch a Leprechaun (granted, easier said than done,) tell him that he now must guard your plugins, and stick the cantankerous lil' bastard between the plugins and their developer--the pure frenzied animosity of the mick blood coursing through the lil' guys veins will usually be enough to detour most parties.
And? What if you have plugins that have been borrowed without consent that are from some company that means business? Ya'know, serious MFs, the type who send out digital foot soldiers through the air and into into your WiFi in an attempt to suss out if you have any of their products? Well, ya' gotta up the proverbial ante. I would normally suggest an Imp, due to their manic nature, but they are a lot of upkeep, and you already have a frenzied Leprechaun, so no need to turn your humble abode into a complete madhouse, right? Right. So, the next logical step is to get a Fairy. Before you question the idea of using a small, winged female flitting about and sprinkling joy and well-wishes upon all, as is so often portrayed by popular culture, to guard your stolen goods, think on this for a moment. A Fairy is literally a small female who is perpetually ignored and overlooked due to her size, has an impossible time finding quality clothing that fits correctly--saying nothing of finding shoes in her size--and being expected to perform magic/miracles whenever asked, everything from turning pumpkins into carriages to basically babysitting a flying boy who's so lazy that he doesn't want to grow up. Now, imagine any woman you have ever been with having to deal with all of these problems on a consistent basis. No, Fairys are not nearly as pleasant as some would have you believe and will do a more than adequate job staving off even the most pesky of developers; "La Belle Dame sans Merci" indeed, Mr. Keats.
I could continue, but I think that you can see that acquiring some creature of supposed myth, is a much better option than any sort of digital safe-guard. True, there is a small amount of upkeep, but no more so than keeping any cat, dog, or giraffe as a pet.
So, maybe now you can see why, @No Avenger , your idea is very nearly the definition of boring. Live a little; replace your VPN with an ogre, troll, or any number of other nasty creatures (preferable ones that smell better than the afore mentioned two,) that will make a developer think twice before traipsing over to your neck of the woods and snooping through your plugins.
No need to thank me for the advice; I'm happy to present yet another logical solution to this problem.
