Hi, I play (not good) acoustic guitar and would like to start playing E-guitar.
    I'd like to buy a Gretsch G5220 or G2655.
I had both in my hands. Both sound nice to me.
The G2655 is lighter, wich is a plus for me. The G5220 Jade Grey Metallic has the look!
The musicstore, I went to, had a G5220 Jade Grey Metallic, which looks just amazing!
The G2655 was Single Barrel Stain. I don't like it so much.

Now: has anyone seen the G5220 Jade Grey Metallic and the G2655 Gunmetal together in real and can tell me how they look side by side?

    Thanks for any feedback!

The G2655 is lighter because it's a hollow body, and therefore a different sound to the G5220.
Depending on the style of music you work on, this may be relevant I'd say.

They pretty much look the pics in person. Depending on light, they can go from an almost midnight blue to chunk Silly Puddy filled with newspaper ink grey.... Choose whichever speaks to you the most. But if you wanna take your axe to the next level, have TV Jones install some custom pups in it. Super nice guy & makes historically accurate Gretsch pups like nobody else.

Thanks for the inputs so far!
@Moogerfooger Thanks for the TV Jones advice, but I'm an e-guitar noob! Well, I'll keep it in mind

Hollowbody vs Solid, color is even less subjective. Put them both in your hands, plug in and wail. Let your finger's ears be your guide.

The better Gretchs have always been hollowbodies. The choose of the color depends only of your taste, nobody can advise you on that I think.:guitarhero:

The hollowbody will be much lighter and easier on your body if you're gigging with it as your main axe.
