    Hello,

I am copying sounds all the day. But I am bad at it. I thought: why not letting
others do my work? You will not get anything for it. Just do it. It MUST be
exactly the same or I am crying. I think making music is all about this. I do
not understand why you all are not sharing your secrets to us anticreative
lazy lads. I cannot border my music from songs on the radio because I am
not me. I am actually Robby Williams! ( I want the sound of his voice too )

I want all this songs replicated 1:1.

    I am waiting.

    Good one.

I have one too: I do not want to sound like anyone out there, especially not anyone mainstream. I could care less if people like my music because I do and that's all that matters. I work hard, study and practice because I know that all things worthwhile take time and energy. I understand that there are no secrets and just like with anything else it takes time and an investment on my part. Even when I get discouraged I push on because I know that when I get there it will be worth it...not because I'll be rich or famous but because I will be able to see my vision come to fruition and I may actually find some catharsis in this chaotic world. I'm very far from my goal but it's cool because I enjoy the process...even when I'm ready to rip my hair out by the roots. I've conditioned myself to get excited by failure because at least I'm still searching and it's the journey that's most important not the destination.

Reminded me the communication barrier between composers and directors. Once John Powell was interviewed:

    So funny

I just wondered how a cashmaking-oriented businessman would start making music.
Maybe not with the music itself but with telling people what he wants. Sometimes i am confused
how some beginners are relying on someone else (f.e. in such audio forums) when it is about a
relationship with an instrument or computer > a withdrawn thing. I imagine a guy who sits on the keyboard
pressing one note - looking nervous for someone around and thinking: Shit! Thats the wrong one!

One can even be successful in the mainstream with unheared sounds - all that matters is
the expression of your emotion must be real and simple to feel. And of course one needs
a team which is promoting the songs. (with power) To use all the common sounds is IMO
totally overrated. Its a thing for hit producers which are fearing the loss of sells. To start
making music like that is... sorry... kind of funny.

its a fine line for sure, but at least making money by selling out you can feed your kids..

idealized self integrity vs. reality of capitalism

If someone wants to feed their kids they're in the wrong line of work unless they're really talented. Most musicians will be lucky to be able to feed themselves.
