    Hi all!

What instrument (including the name of the plugin) would you suggest to use as a melodic executor?

I’m looking for something expressive (be able to work on musical nuances), to get a great melodic execution.

    Thanks a lot!

Your hands, heart, sould, mind and ears are the best melodic executor. If you are looking for an instrument or plugin, like what @Smoove Grooves said you will need to help us out here and give us a clue.

I'm going to throw Garritan CFX and Pianoteq 6 out there, because they are quite expressive in their own right

I'm not even sure what a melodic executor is, someone who sings while they chop your head off?

Vst instruments are not expressive, you need real instrument like keyboard polyphonic aftertouch or MPE, or wind controller and to assign synth functions to modulation parameters of your controller.

i suggest you play your melodies with any bright (sustained) piano first, get those keys right
then add strings to same piano key

you can add little reverb and get that expressive mood

and after that you can ADD other keys/pads/chord/beats and continue building your tracks

in that way you used 70% of your own brainstorm ....and 30% for vsts when you add/mix/modify the sounds

using vsts helps you sharpen your melodies
try arturia synthsizers /korg vsts/roland vsts for creating expressive 80s sounds
or serum and spire/thorn for trance/techno/dubstep for expressive transformers language
or be like timbaland and record hiccups and expressive mumbling speech
and get that hiphop sound straight to spotify
(and yes i saw his masterclass ..which was funny seeing him dancing to his own mumblings )

    good luck

I noticed that you shouldn't always use quantization, and / or diversify automatic grooves, but nothing beats direct unquantized expression, modulating velocity and volume. All this for any VST.

    Surge is another good one.

Reamping synths through some tubes and a speaker can give you fun results.

All done naturally by a good player! No "modulating velocity" needed! :chilling:

are using a keyboard/midikontrolerfor playing your exotic melodies already? :P

if that keybaord is'nt "enough" for your exotic needs, you could take a look at this one

    Thanks to all!

It's for pop song melodies (demos, no lyrics). I admit that from one song to another, different sounds could be used.

I don't sing anymore and my voice is rusted (do you say this in English?). I use to sing them myself. I'd like to find something that could eventually replace my voice for performing the melodies.

I'm a Mac user by the way.
