I'm guessing you don't, or at least shouldn't, listen to the Blues genre. :)
"My baby left me, my cat died.
    No money now, brain fried.
    Oy veh. Oy veh.
    What will become of me?"

    Something like that. :shalom:

I must admit I was one or two times moved to tears during a vocal recording, but when I'm working on a song, my focus prevents me from being emotional affected.

when a song has this emotional effect on me I just leave it , I become too afraid to work on it and ruin whatever I felt

The question has been asked. "What is Music?". People say things like "Organized Sound". I say "The organized universal translation of Emotion". And here your proving that

If the song doesn’t affect my mood in some way then the song sucks.

If I wasn't affected by emotion I'd never be able to write a song, tell a story, paint a painting or throw a pot. When performing if I am not swallowed by emotion then the audience would never trust me to be honest with them again or for them to invest in their own emotion to live within the construct of the composition. Isn't that what it is to be an artist, to fear not the boundaries between our own continuosly changing moods and to use them as fodder to carry on the narrative in the context of our body of work and as well not to let any fear bind us in our freedom to express any of those complex moods? It's a self fueling fire of devotional self ego immolation...to me.
