Sharing that way is an old and outdated methode!
Regarding ratio I´ve had the same issue way back when I used my account on Audionews.

 

I agree, this is so outdated, 15-20 years ago it was a thing. Nowadays leaving the computer on 24 hours a day, and heavily running for clogging up your bandwidth, grilling your hardware is just stupid.
And the worst is that the seeded files are unreliable. I stopped using torrent more than 10 years ago when I got tired of downloading some software or educational stuff and when the file finally completed it turned out to be some weird japanese porn video.

Some of you even mentioned how users could trick the seeding, using parts of files from other sources.
THAT EXPLAINS MANY OF THE REDUNDANTLY POSTED ISSUES WITH KONTAKT LIBRARIES.
Users got some stuff from torrent that weren't complete or correct and they didn't understand why life is not fair with them.

I'm curious, is audionews the site where ex-AS members migrated to together with a lot of stormy drama a few years ago? is it that site for which people offered limited number of invitation rights here, like if it was the sweetest candy?

First of all, Rutracker's members are not forced to maintain a certain ratio like @ AudioNews nor going to the pay option to keep it high enough : it's 100% free.
Secondly, all torrents are verified and I never experienced a single issue with the many terabytes I've DL from there.
So torrents are not outdated at all.

I'm an AN member since 15 years now, and I've only downloaded some presets from them (not even 100 MB) which I couldn't found anywhere else, so I'm still good with the few GB they gives you when you sign up and, sometimes, as a gift/bonus.
I mainly use AN as an information database.

The drama you're talking about came up many years after AN was born.

Sorry, I've misunderstood. Anyway, I don't think AN was the place they've migrated to. More probably AF or another private one (torrents only) which I can't remember the name.

 

I think audionews is a pretty good site. I guess all those who have something negative to say has been banned because of bad ratio
One thing though I was banned from invites because I tried to give a couple invites away on this forum. Never found out what I actually did wrong. I did not try to sell them and they had to prove good ratio from another site to be reviewed as a candidate.

Well, i'm sorry for the users but to me the site is overrated and doesn't offer almost anything else more compared to other sites to be honest, 99% of the stuff is already on sister site or other sites, even the private tracker purpose doesn't have sense, nothing rare or special to share that you can't find somewhere else, the only meaning is to have the possibility to keep all the releases alive which sometimes doesn't happens because not everyone keep seeding and sometimes some releases become dead anyway, i get an invite some times ago but every time i searched for something i was able to find it somewhere else, we are not talking about something like REDacted for music, which is different, it's special compared to other places, you can still find rare stuff only there most of the times. Audionews to me is more for archive purposes to keep all the releases alive, plus i have a shitty upload speed and i still didn't use it once because of upload ratio in a "world of seedboxes" (i think there's no merit tokens like on RED and this is bad for me and all the users who have shitty upload speed) and because i always found the same stuff on other places. Sorry my english is not perfect.

I went over and lost all my torrent files to seed. So I try to pay 15 bucks for more GB's and my bank put a stop on my account. Something about nefarious Russian payment methods.

Downloaded big torrents on "rutracker".
And the rest all over the net.

With AZ you can directly support the uploaders, if you really want your IP logged by using torrents you're free to do so. All I'm saying is you can buy a RD Account and use it on AZ which not only will it give you fast download speeds, it will also support the uploaders. If you can't afford 30$ a year for it I don't know what to say.
