I'm a big fan of octave mixing (I mean, to divide the spectrum in octaves). While mixing, one of the steps I do is to check where stems sound in octave ranges.
I actually use a preset I've made on Pro-Q [such a "very trasparent and digital EQ] with 9 bells put in the central frequency of each octave. The idea is to cut off all possible overlaps in spectrum octaves of different stems.

However, I'd like to try octave EQing also to boost and colour and not just to cut surgically off frequencies.
So, is there any "nice and warm" eq (maybe an emulation like SSL/oxford eq...?) but that works on octaves you recommend to try?

I work on Logic [Audio Units plugins]

Ah, I see. And you don't want to use FF Pro-Q for this because it sounds too clean?
Besides, I doubt that there's ever been an analogue EQ with these features. At least not that I heard of (apart from the graphic EQs with the small faders, ofc).

You could do it in two steps. First a multi-band splitter and then apply your EQ of choice to each band, octave in your case.

The easiest way to do this AFAIK is to use Blue Cat's Audio MB-7 Mixer, is a multi-band splitter that can host several VSTs to apply to each band.

Pro-Q sounds really clean, perfect to cut but not so much cool to boost. I mean, it's ok but not wow on boosting if compared to SSLChannel or SPL EQ range series.

Ok but I'm just looking for something lighter

Guys, there's something like this but centred in octaves?

Ok, something just with less faders? Just one per octave ahah but ok the idea is that, pretty good!

Each sound has its own sonic character, you can't boost or cut something that doesn't exist.
Presets just make your mix amateur.

Edited: post repack version here: https://audiosex.pro/threads/octaves-eqing.54782/#post-491635

I'm not sure, didn't they create that suggested "Equivocate EQ" just for that?

Equivocate is tuned to human ear tho, not octaves. But there are some octave-tuned graphic EQs out there, as No Avenger pointed out.

Yep, even with 10 bands they're not tuned in octaves at all, but the freqs are adjustable so, no problem.
But since you can't select all bands and move them all together to adjust them to the desired root freq, you have to do this manually.

I do octave eqing at the very end, after all my process...track , bus, master.... normally at that point u should have already given to your final track the analog touch. So using a transparent EQ is fine for me, fabfilter pro Q is the best for this operation in my opinion (moreover it has dynamic EQ).
It is use for fixing small frequ balance pb in your mix, but if you have to boost or cut to much to fix the frequ balance in each octave....... so it shows that you've made some big mistakes at the mixing stage.
