i don't think i have ever heard a digital synth that was capable of sounding as warm as this one. even when korg released the king korg with a built-in real tube saturation circuit, i don't think it came close to this. some of the patches sound as warm and lush as the oberheims.

the price point aint bad either.

 

im very tempted by this, was planning to get one next week...but ive been watching lots of videos of the modal argon8, i think i prefer the sound of the modal and will probably get that. Amazing modulation options for the waveshape on the hydrasynth though, could keep you entertained for a lifetime

 

Both Hydra and Argon are on my wishlist as well...

That's a badass synth. I miss the ribbon controller of the Kurzweil 2500XS that I had in the 90's, and with all of the other personality traits that this synth forwards, If it isn't another guitar like Haliax was saying, this could be just the thing I might seriously consider bringing home. Warm and cozy are welcome traits.

 

I don't need any more keyboards but I'd buy the key version of this just for the poly aftertouch and ribbon.
Sure miss the ribbon from my CS-60.

When I worked demoing for Yamaha and Roland, you wouldn't believe how many products had recalls of their first releases of a model! Instant updates of firmware, etc.
For that reason, I always wait a while, myself.
