Millenials DID NOT ruin the music industry [100% serious post]

Discussion in 'Lounge' started by Area51, Jul 20, 2020.

  1. I'm not sure if this supports the idea that millennials have ruined music or the opposite.

we all from this threat should come together and start a business. i truly believe we could. we collect all resources like midi, presets, loops, drums, kontakt instruments, beats, tracks, vocals or whatever we all make, organize that, put a cover on it (something like AK or dollar bills I suggest), and sell it to some victims. i mean then we are the industry. and we will have influence, design sounds, outsource tasks to our bimbos. we still can do whatever we we want. we could come up with anything. if we need help some dude will help us and he gets 1 % off the splice profit (ok lets keep it at 0.5% and no health insurance or free time, its a damn honour to serve...)

straight forward. keep it simple they say. and the pool of dumb people is oversaturated and constantly growing. it will be eeeeasy. once we are the industry we will love it baby.

i can make pictures in the pharmacy nearby with that syrup for our instagram and maybe even someone here got a girlfriend who could model (i haven't talked to woman in a year since i have to try all those plugins and my skin became pale bc i see no more sunlight but anyway, if have that ig with syrup they will come here...

there is simple solutions to complex problems (except middle east)

jajajajaja c'mon give me job (but not that 0.5% split, i want 1.2% at least. i made this post. so I'm basically a ceo. but all this responsability. damn i can never handle that. ok i take the 0.5% job) i sign. better that than nothing aight,

aah man I can already see them grillz

    that's all i ever wanted

  4. You're a man with big ideas. Too big to limit yourself to music. You have the kind of vision that is the making of a future President of the USA. Dream big and dare to take risks!!

Interesting topic. Like Lenny, could probably write a 200 volume set of encyclopedias on it. To cut to the chase though, millenials haven't ruined the music industry, but the world has changed. Not in a good way. Music is a casualty of that.

As I don't listen to any mainstream garbage that most of you listen (Like pop, what they call now Rap and Hip Hop and trap.. or it's all just plain crap?), my scene keeps strong even after more than 3 decades.
Millennials have almost zero interference, and major labels have long lost their power to influence how things evolve.
I guess the mainstream music industry will be in the hands of those who love the rubbish made lately...

OMG!! Aliens exist but are uglier than an elephant ass! I'm dropping Star-trek (and tobacco).
And don't tell me that thing is human, facts are facts.

But there's still hope, meet our salvation:

Dunno about Salvation.. but her and her brother sure do make great quirky pop records. Finius is a great producer, a real standout.

Genuine black artists were removed from mainstream. Now mainstream sucks. Not race issue but music needs a mix to feed off each other.

i found that if i take one loop and a single one-shot from 20 different packs and combine them with a midi file or two, i almost always end up with a #1 single.

But isn't that how #1 singles are made these days?

I'm not into hardware synths and even less into classic ones.
But I ended up reading about the 808 just because I couldn't understand the humongous amount of samples/plugin emulations about it.
And to be honest, even considering that transistor limited life (or whatever), I still don't get it.

I'm just a humble metal-head, so when I think about an 808 the thing that pops out in my mind is an Ibanez TS808 pedal

Tube screamer with a big muff and plenty of compression, you'll sound like Mr Gilmour. Nothing wrong with being a metal head, early Slayer was a staple diet for me once.

I wonder what a big muff would sound like with an 808.
