Headphones for mixing without Sonarworks?

    I can confirm this. Using a cheap-ass-clon iPhone headphones I was able to get a full 12.1 surround theater experience.
    Then I downloaded a pirate profile named "Manowar live when the loudness blew up the windows" and now I'm deaf. But man, so worth it. :wink::disco:

    PS. My windows are fine, thanks for asking.

    I even turned my desktop multimedia speakers into Genelec 8351 using Sonarworks profile.
    Can't believe how it sounds now!

    I've already posted this here, HD650 with SW is objectively the best combo... but peeps here trying to be smart and denying it... don't know why.

    I never bought into the mic emulators, either. Didn't Antares stop making theirs? That was pre-"reference mic", like Slate or Antelope. The Antares plug just let you take any old mic and turn it into a Telefunken or RCA ribbon or whatever.

    Sonarworks is great IMO! I use it like another pair of monitors in headphones and through speakers. Its a tool like anything in our arsenal. Use it if it helps you get to your desired result.
