RAR Files unzipping blank folders, I'm using UnRarX, Anyone know if its the program unziping blank folders or whats the case?

 

Maybe try The Unarchiver?

I'm on a PC and the only time I've seen this happen is when you don't know the password to a file and it leaves a blank folder behind.

Ok thanks guys. I'l try WinRAR, They're just sample packs uploaded on Uploaded.net that I found on Audioz. I downloaded 7/8 and all just have blank folders but are 1 or 2gs in size. I'l let you know if WinRAR works

 

If it is a collection of rar files, like 1-8. You will need all 8 to successfully unzip them.

I know you contacted me on Audioz but I haven't had time to respond and this is a better place to post anyway because this way if I am busy at the moment one of our other awesome members can suggest a possible solution for you as they already have. All the best.

 

It's also what happened with a wrong password. It'll create a folder but nothing in it because it couldn't decrypt the files. Not the only reason of course, but it'll happen almost everytime you enter a wrong password. It prepares to extract the files, it makes the folder but then errors and never creates the files.

If it were a multi-part issue most programs I would think would give you the error right in the archive expander and would have arrows indicated there are more [either before or after] the file you opened and is much more noticeable.

But yeah either copy/paste the password or try to enter it manually. If it still does it then it's another issue.

 

Exactly if he have 7/8 as he said it wont work but that should mean that he also get an error mess about that it misses one rarfile..

It's the same with UnrarX. It'll throw an error in the log window.

If it's a password issue it'll say 'Enter password (will not be echoed)' on the top, and then 'No files to extract' at the bottom. That means you need to enter the password first. That's an incongruity the app has. You need to enter the pass _before_ you start extracting. It won't ask for the pass during extraction like other apps do.

If it says 'CRC failed ' 'Total Errors:x' at the end that means you either have damaged rar parts or you need to download further missing parts.

You also need to collect all parts in the same location, because the app won't go looking by itself for missing parts in different locations.
