I guessed that part, but don't get the "quantum," part.
I did look it up but I get a lot of vague results.
    Is it something specific?

Yes, Quantum 2626 its an audio interface, its pretty awesome actually.
But people were madd because after the hyped countdown the first thing they showed was an ad for an already released product :deep_facepalm:

The listen bus is nice, but then again i don't understand why they only give you one and you can't have as many output channels as you want by default.

Maybe we have reached a limit in terms of innovation. I don't need notation.
The most Underwhelming update apart from Samplitude X4 which was a serious piss-take.
I'll stick on 4.6 for now...

We did. The most requested features were expression maps/articulation lanes and an integrated score editor.

You might not need it but there are a lot of film/TV composers that do.

    I
f there were film composers out there they would be using something else. Two people I know use reaper and cubase. they aren't studio one users to begin with.

That's the point of adding these features; to entice and bring new users in hence the push for Sphere. This was not an update existing users were begging for... S1 devs come from Cubase and want to take that market.

Nice update. Those using loops, other’s performances or monotonic music won’t understand this update.
Musicians were a bit left out of s1, score editor and other features are a big plus. PreSonus is known to add a lot of values during the lifecycle of a major update. Cubase users are getting randsomed between 10.x and 10.5 updates and it’s not cheap.
And cold truth is, if music can’t be done with whatever version, it’s time considering quitting. Some became legends with 90% less than we all have now at our fingertips. If you suck, s1 v10 with 9000 new features, won’t save you.

Subscription based stuff sucks in my opinion. If a company offers it, they only do it because they think they will earn more money because of it. Otherwise they simply wouldn't do it obviously. They will promise you always the newest version or whatever but in the end, if they'd really come up with something new and innovative, they would make it a new product anyways.

I disagree, it makes things affordable for the customers not having the cash to pay for stuff in full. And NO, Begging and stealing on sister site is not an alternative to subs. Got some subs and I’m happy with it...it allows me to get a touch on things unlike some doing their cry babies and treating groups like their bitches because they don’t crack stuff fast enough to their liking.

if you have the cash, you can also pay full price...subs is an alternative for the rest of us. What’s your offer?

Finally clip gain envelopes. I am happy. The only feature I really hoped for. But I am not sure if I should Upgrade.
Presonus Sphere is really tempting. 150 bucks/year for the daw and all Presonus plugins? That is roughly the price for the update. One of the better subscription-based models in the business, if you ask me.

$15/month would have been cool too.
