All leads point to ver 5 being a small incremental update to S1 4.6. I hope I am wrong about this. GUI updates are the only thing that's apparantly noteworthy.

I don't know man... They sent mail yesterday where said that "It's the most important release in 25 years of our existence" or something like that. Sounds too big to be minor.

Do you think a company will email you saying "Hey bud, you know this ver 5 hype that we are building up, yeah that is completely artificial and this version has nothing substantive but we want you to act like a good consumer and accept it like it's greater than JESUS CHRIST and also stay excited for our next marketing ploy" ?

All the users who are requesting features that they want have valid claims, but I want s1 to knock out all the low hanging fruits and implement features that overlap with the needs of the majority of audio professionals first ! Then implement the esoteric ones which will serve others.

Looks pretty minor to me, and also

People who work with scores, dont wait till 2020 to get S1 v5, they bought score software long time ago

No, but you don't want to be that boy that cried "wolf!" too many times. So, my guess is that they wouldn't put it like that if it wasn't really something at least relatively big.

These features literally were on top of the feature request section.

When they say it's the most important announcement in their history then I can only hope they aren't going down the cloud subscription rabbit hole

Again, to reiterate, I am praying at this point that I will be proven completely wrong after the launch video and you will be proven to have been right all along !

Another advantage of FX channels is that you have a physical button on a FaderPort 16 to show them directly

from the looks of it (the leaked S1 v5 picture), looks like many, top 'most-voted' feature requests will not be implemented in v5

I'm hoping for features that Cubase has since ver3. Send pan linked to channel pan for example
