AFAIK(rumors and stuff) there will be MPE support, key switches and note editor(integrated into Studio One itself).
Maybe somebody knows more about new features?

    upd
    • There is also a new PreSonus controller(probably will be presented with S1 5) - "Atom SQ". Don't know what it is going to be, but Ableton released an update with support for this new device.

    upd
Another bunch of news from "no-one":
    • all native plug-ins will have some sort of update(some will be completely updated to "2nd version", some will get new features, new GUI for all plugs, all dynamic plug-ins will have side-chain, some plugs will have a new general option - "saturation").
    • free clip gain reduction(I assume it's about that feature request "draw out pops and clicks" or something around it).
    upd
    Another one
    • New time stretch algo - Tape.
    upd
    • New AUX channel type for external hardware.

I did read somewhere that Presonus were working heavily on MIDI 2 support.

Wow, that's cool if true. No wonder there will be MPE as it is native stuff for Midi 2.0. If they added support for midi 2.0, they had to rewrite their midi editor, which is even cooler because they could have all their previous mistakes fixed and tons of new stuff added(especially that "Cubase midi stuff" which everybody was so obsessed about).
I wasn't so excited about software update for a long time. :break:

It's on my birthday ! Been using S1 since 2014 and I am cautiously optimistic about it.

Great news: Hopefully they will fix the bug of the scaling in the Editor windows.

what would be nice is if they could get sort out the mackie protocol on behringer universal surface control , every now and then i keep getting my master returning to Zero and the software is sending a pitch change to channel 9 and i cant stop it its very annoying

anyone else had this trouble i have searched out how to disable pitch bend on channels but i cant find it , it does say about keyboards but not external controllers hmmmmm

    Lee

p.s studio one uses the mackie to its full potential and its really good apart from this glitch grrrrr

Oh, I forgot to mention - there will be a bunch of new options in mixer, scenes and so on(lots of features for "live mixing"). But as always with such cases - no details, because this rumor always comes from beta-testers, who can't share any specific data, so they just give people some hints here and there. Maybe your problem is fixed in the new version, considering the fact they paid much more attention to such cases this time.

Nice, been waiting for this. What I wonder is if there will be another 4.6x update before they present the new version 5.

@PrettyPurdie they usually recommend to install new version separately. So, there is no need to choose(except when money is the case).

    @waverider no, definitely not.

And probably MPE support(considering there will be MPE in Studio One). Also, I wonder if they updated native plug-ins like Impact regarding MPE support. This is actually interesting how are they gonna treat this MPE thing, how deep and broad.

which please, have you reported it ?

    I hope they add:
sample trim in impakt XT (like in sample one)
    Trim Automation
    built in custom colors :)
    improved graphics performance under macOS
working GUI scaling (anything beside 200% scaling results into glitches)
    export foldertrack as music loop
pdc fix for synths like serum
save macroknobs with musicloop even for NON multiinstruments

What do you think, how much will be the update ?

Will be Win10 only, is that correct?

Yes. Basically pretty soon everything will be "Win10 only" as Windows drops support for all previous versions of their OS. But as I understand you will able to use it on Win7 anyway, but you won't be able to get any support from PreSonus and if you have any bugs, it's not their problem as they won't be testing it on other versions.
Tbh I don't see any reason to stay on Win 7 or 8 these days. Win 10 is very stable and all those fears are pointless. Besides you'll have to switch sooner or later. So, what's the point?
