This is my first time using an SSD. Whenever I start to do the re-install of windows it keeps saying that I need a driver and it won't start. It is a Samsung 840 Pro 256 GB. I contacted them yesterday and they said that was a problem with the ACHI driver. I have downloaded the Intel ACHI preinstall driver, but that doesn't seem to make it work. The other thing they said that causes this is when it's not fomatted. But it is. I am very confused.

    Here are my other specs:
    RME Fireface 400
CPU Intel Core i7-2600K Quad-Core Processor 3.4 Ghz 8 MB Cache LGA 110)
Video EVGA 512MB 9800GTX+ (I do plan on upgrading this to either a GTX660 or GTX680 next month).
PSU Corsair Enthusiast Series TX 850 Watt ATX/EPS Modular 806
Motherboard Gigabyte Intel GA-Z68X-UD3H-B3 with F12 BIOS - the drive is on the top white port, I was told that was the intel 600 bus.
    Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3 1600 MHz (PC3 1280)

I have everything disconnected from all the ports (except keyboard and mouse) and I have even tried disconnecting all the internal drives except the SSD, but still no joy. I have never had such problems with installing windows before. Thank you in advance for your help!

I tried creating the thumb drive over at a friends house last night and couldn't get it to work and that person is the only person who has a mac. So next time I can get over there, I will try again. It maybe that I had the 10.8.4 installer mounted.

But I did get the pc working on the ssd. Stupid usb 3.0 drivers! :)
