What is the tightest, dryest and accentuated drumsound you have ever heard

    I am looking for songs that have extreme tightly recorded and mixed acoustic drums, played by only the snappiest of drummers, really accentuated stuff. Right in your face funky shit.

    Example: at the 2:05 mark of Ilyena:

    there was a kick sample I downloaded long ago that was called "60-year-old-virgin-woman.wav". Don't know where it went...

    but i think in the third version you have plenty of good midi

    in my opinion, the King of razorblade drums is Teddy Riley. I know, you asked for acoustic drums but anyway I wanted to say it

    It's in your face funky, though maybe not what you meant. The kick sounds more like a snare and might have been captured with an SM87.
